On July 23, at a press conference providing information to the press for the first 6 months of 2026, the Da Nang City Department of Finance had a summary socio-economic report for the first 6 months of 2026.

According to the report, in the first 6 months of 2026, gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is estimated to increase by 9.52% compared to the same period in 2025, reflecting a fairly clear recovery trend of the city's economy in the context of a still volatile economic environment. In which, Q1/2026 increased by 9.28%, Q2/2026 increased by 9.72%.
With an increase of 9.52%, Da Nang's GRDP growth rate in the first 6 months of 2026 ranked 13th/34 localities. Leading among 6 provinces and cities in the South Central region and ranked 3rd/7 centrally-run cities.
Notably, in the first 6 months of 2026, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 3.27% (scenario > 3.0%) and the industry - construction sector increased by 11.72% (scenario 11.5-12.0%), reaching the set scenario. Product tax minus subsidies increased by 9.52% (scenario increase of 7.0-7.5%) exceeding the set scenario.
The driving force for growth continues to come from the service sector, with an increase of 9.31% (scenario increase of 11.0-11.5%), the added value (VA) of this sector is estimated to increase by 9.31%, contributing 4.95 percentage points, accounting for more than half of the overall GRDP growth.
In the first 6 months of the year, total domestic investment capital attracted 74.2 trillion VND, 1.8 times higher than the same period last year, of which 47 newly licensed projects with a total investment capital of 65.5 trillion VND, 3 times higher in capital scale.
The city attracted 357.78 million USD of FDI investment capital, an increase of 84.5% compared to the same period in 2025. Foreign investment capital in Da Nang mainly focuses on the fields of trade - services, information technology, processing and manufacturing industry and modern retail such as AEON Mall Da Nang Trade Center; MDF wood processing plant, electrical wire and cable production and processing plant...
In the first 6 months of the year, the whole city had 3,899 newly established businesses and affiliated branches, with a total registered capital of 19,141 billion VND, an increase of 31.1% in the number of businesses and an increase of 60.1% in registered capital compared to the same period last year.

Besides the achieved results, the city still faces many difficulties and challenges. The complex and unpredictable developments of the world economy and politics, potentially posing a risk of large-scale trade wars, have a significant impact on the socio-economic development of the city.
The number of businesses withdrawing from the market is still high with 1,056 businesses and affiliated branches completing dissolution procedures. This shows that competitive pressure, production and business costs and market difficulties still affect a part of businesses, especially small-scale businesses with limited financial capacity. The disbursement progress of the 2026 public investment capital plan is still difficult.
