In May 2025, production and business of enterprises in Hai Duong province continued to develop stably and achieved many positive results. Departments, branches and localities have proactively and effectively implemented the directives of the Central, Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee, while synchronously implementing solutions for socio-economic development. Thanks to that, industrial production activities in the area still maintained a positive growth momentum.
According to Hai Duong Statistical Office, the province's industrial production index in May increased by 1.7%compared to the previous month and increased by 15.3%over the same period in 2024. Many key products with increased output, such as animal feed increased by 16.7%, adult clothing increased by 34.2%, sports shoes increased by 20.9%, plastic products increased by 14.3%, electronic circuits increased by 22.1 or more increased by 29.9%...
The strong development of technology and the increasing demand for electronics and electricity products have created great opportunities for businesses in the province. Enterprises have actively invested in expanding production, applying new technologies to improve productivity and product quality.
In particular, the textile and footwear industries also recorded significant growth, thanks to taking advantage of free trade agreements and exploiting new markets such as Africa and the Middle East.
However, some sectors are still facing difficulties. The electricity generation and distribution industry decreased by 8.7% due to the impact of the El Nino phenomenon, causing low electricity production in the first quarter. Although electricity demand has increased in the summer, output is not enough to cover the previous shortage. The mining industry also decreased by 9.3% due to many old mines expiring, while new mines have not yet come into operation.
However, in general, industrial production in Hai Duong still maintained a positive growth momentum in the first 5 months of 2025. Flexible management solutions, close direction of the government and efforts of enterprises create a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the local industry in the coming time.
