According to updated information, conflict developments in the Middle East region may increase risks to transportation, international trade and global supply chains; fuel prices, oil prices and logistics costs are likely to increase in the near future. At the same time, some sea and air transport routes through the Middle East region may be affected by security situations, in which the transport route through the Strait of Hormuz poses a risk of disruption or increased transportation costs.
To proactively respond and limit risks to production, import-export and logistics activities, the Department of Industry and Trade requests businesses and industry associations in the city to closely monitor the developments of the international situation, especially fluctuations related to sea transport, air transport, fuel prices and logistics costs to proactively adjust production, import-export and freight transport plans.
Units proactively review import and export contracts and cargo transportation plans, especially transport routes to/from or transit through the Middle East region; work with shipping lines, transport companies, and logistics units to update information on schedules, freight rates, and possible risks.
Along with that, regularly exchange and coordinate to provide information with state management agencies, industry associations and related partners on the situation of import and export, freight transport, freight rates, surcharges... to promptly have plans to respond to arising situations.
The Department also requested units to proactively develop contingency plans and risk response plans in international trade and logistics activities, limiting negative impacts on supply chains and business production activities of enterprises. On the other hand, strengthen the search and expansion of new markets and partners, take advantage of opportunities from potential markets; regularly exchange with trade promotion agencies and Vietnamese Trade Offices abroad to update market information and trade opportunities.
In the process of implementation, if there are difficulties, obstacles or information to be reflected, it is requested that businesses promptly exchange with the Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Phong City (Department of Investment Management and International Cooperation) to summarize and coordinate with relevant agencies to handle according to regulations.
