Stable trading and circulation of goods
According to the report on the operating results of the Market Management force in July 2026, in the past month in Hanoi, the purchase, sale, circulation and distribution of goods took place smoothly. The supply of essential goods was ensured, meeting the consumption needs of the people.
The general level of food and foodstuff prices did not have significant fluctuations. In which, food prices tended to decrease slightly, while food and food service prices only increased at a low level.
Although raw material, preservation, transportation and service costs in the summer still put pressure on some commodity groups, the prices of essential goods in general are still maintained stably.
For gasoline and oil products, the market experienced interspersed adjustments of increases and decreases in July. According to the Hanoi Market Management Department, although diesel prices increased relatively sharply, the general level of gasoline prices is still low compared to the beginning of April 2026.
Supervision work shows that gasoline and oil business activities in the city are maintained stably, supply is guaranteed; the business of E10 bio-gasoline is basically going into order, no interruption of supply, speculation, hoarding or abnormal fluctuations in selling prices are recorded.
Counterfeit goods and goods infringing intellectual property rights continue to be hot spots
Besides the stable developments of the market, the Hanoi Market Management Department assesses that the situation of legal violations in production, business and circulation of goods is still complicated.
The main violations focus on trading in counterfeit goods, counterfeit trademarks, goods infringing intellectual property rights, smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin and violations in e-commerce activities.
According to reports, violating goods are quite diverse, from technology equipment, cosmetics to clothing, footwear and consumer goods. In some cases, goods are gathered in large quantities at warehouses or business locations before being put on the market for consumption.
To reflect the trend of violations, the Hanoi Market Management Department cited a number of typical cases that have been detected and handled.
In which, Market Management Team No. 16 has completed the dossier and transferred it to the police agency to investigate the case related to nearly 18,000 fake Apple brand positioning devices at a business establishment in Viet Hung ward.
Exhibits include many types of positioning devices carrying information and signs of Apple products, with a total value according to the listed price of about 880 million VND.

Regarding cosmetics, the report also mentioned the case of Market Management Team No. 11 coordinating with Phu Luong Ward Police to inspect a goods gathering point, discovering 57,000 skin care masks bearing the BANOBAGI brand, worth more than 427 million VND.
The cargo owner could not present invoices and documents proving legal origin. Through verification with the unit representing the rights holder in Vietnam, all products were identified as not genuine goods, not manufactured by the company and not allowed to be distributed in Vietnam.
The case file has been transferred to the police agency for further investigation and handling according to regulations.
Violations tend to shift to the e-commerce environment
According to reports, violation methods continue to tend to shift to e-commerce platforms and social networks.
During the period, the Hanoi Market Management Sub-Department received information reflecting signs of counterfeit food business on e-commerce platforms, conducted reviews, classification and transferred information to competent units for verification and handling.
Hanoi Market Management Department said that subjects continue to take advantage of the online environment to advertise, introduce and distribute violating goods.
Meanwhile, information about business locations, warehouses and implementing entities is often not fully presented, causing difficulties in identifying subjects and actual inspection.
According to the Hanoi Market Management Sub-Department, receiving information through hotlines, consumer feedback and rights holders, combined with monitoring and collecting information on the online environment, is playing an increasingly important role in detecting violations.
In the coming time, the Hanoi Market Management Sub-Department will continue to strengthen grasping the situation in the area, focusing on inspecting groups of goods with high risk of violations such as cosmetics, fashion, electronic equipment, food and consumer goods;
At the same time, promote the supervision of business activities on e-commerce platforms and social networks, coordinate with the police force, local authorities, rights holders and relevant agencies to promptly verify the origin of goods, strictly handle cases with signs of crime, contributing to protecting consumer rights and building a transparent and healthy business environment in the city.
