The Ho Chi Minh City Market Management (QLTT) force is promoting coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Police in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and goods infringing intellectual property rights. Many violations have been detected and handled with large quantities of goods.
Implementing the direction of the Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Market Management Team No. 10 has strengthened market inspection and control, coordinated with professional units of the Ho Chi Minh City Police to handle many cases in the area.
Through grasping the situation, functional forces discovered a business household at Nhat Tao Electronics and Electronics Business Center (Dien Hong ward) showing signs of trading electronic equipment and components of unknown origin.
During a surprise inspection, functional forces discovered and temporarily seized 2,022 products including audio conversion equipment, digital television receivers and many electronic components without invoices or documents proving legal origin. The total value of the shipment is nearly 291.5 million VND.
In another case, Market Management Team No. 10 coordinated with the police force and local authorities to inspect a shoe business household, discovering 65 pairs of shoes showing signs of brand counterfeiting, worth about 65 million VND. The examination results determined that all of the above goods were fake.
Functional agencies have fined business households 85 million VND for many violations such as trading in counterfeit trademarks, violating regulations on e-commerce and trading in goods infringing intellectual property rights on the internet environment. All violating goods are forced to be destroyed according to regulations.
In the coming time, Market Management Team No. 10 will continue to coordinate with relevant units to strengthen inspection and handling of violations, and at the same time promote propaganda and dissemination of laws to business organizations and individuals to contribute to building a transparent commercial environment and protecting consumer rights.
