Ho Chi Minh City supervises the implementation of private economic development policies

On July 7, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City organized a survey conference on policies to support and develop the private economy in the city.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Pham Minh Tuan - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Ho Chi Minh City said that the survey aims to record opinions from businesses, cooperatives, business households and associations to assess the effectiveness of implementing policies to support private economic development. The results will be the basis for proposing to improve mechanisms and policies, improve the investment and business environment and improve the effectiveness of Resolution 68.

Mr. Nguyen Vinh Huy - Chairman of the Saigon Central Business Association said that small and medium-sized enterprises are still under great pressure from capital costs, land, logistics, digital transformation, legal compliance costs and the situation of slow payment and capital embezzlement.

According to Mr. Huy, it is necessary to strongly shift from management thinking to companion and constructive thinking so that policies truly become benefits that can be felt for businesses.

Also at the conference, the issue of accessing capital sources, administrative procedure reform... was mentioned by businesses.

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Ms. Truong Thi Bich Hanh - Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City said that the success of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW is not measured by the number of documents issued, but must be measured by the level of business satisfaction, by the growth of private enterprises and the increasing contributions of the private economic sector to the city's development.

The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City acknowledged, highly appreciated and thanked the heartfelt opinions of the business community. This is practical, objective and valuable information to help the supervisory delegation have more basis to comprehensively assess the implementation of Action Program No. 02-CTrHĐ/TU of the City Party Committee implementing Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo.

After this conference, the supervisory delegation will continue to study and fully summarize the opinions expressed, survey forms and recommendations of businesses; at the same time, combine with the results of direct work at the supervised agencies and units to develop objective and comprehensive supervisory reports.

On that basis, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will propose to the City Party Committee, City People's Committee and competent agencies the contents under the city's authority in administrative procedure reform, improving the investment and business environment, removing difficulties, and creating favorable conditions for the strong development of the private economy.

The results from this monitoring activity will be summarized to participate in the process of building the Special Urban Law and the process of perfecting the law.

Regarding specific opinions at the conference on the improper implementation of legal regulations, Ms. Hanh emphasized that when necessary, the Front will have separate written opinions immediately sent to competent authorities. In the near future, when deploying voter contact conferences in the area, specialized voter contact meetings should be organized with the participation of the business community.

On the Front's side, the unit is actively innovating its operating forms, in which, promoting the application of digital transformation. The Front will monitor and promptly give opinions to functional agencies in resolving the recommendations of voters and the business community.
