Recorded on November 5, at Ba Chieu market (Binh Thanh district), Ms. Nguyen Nhu Thao - a vegetable trader said that in recent weeks, green vegetables from the Central provinces have had their supply interrupted due to storms and floods. While the amount of goods from Da Lat has also decreased due to prolonged heavy rain, many places were flooded.
"The price of green vegetables has increased slightly, the number of customers buying is not sudden, so I only import a small amount to sell, to avoid having inventory and damage. In the past few days, the weather has been erratic, vegetables are easily crushed, so customers have to choose carefully and keep them fresh before buying" - Ms. Thao shared more.
At Pham Van Hai market, Ms. Le Thi Van - a pork trader said: "The price of live pigs this week is still around the old level, there are no signs of shortage or sudden price increases. The supply from wholesale markets is stable, so retail prices remain stable, people shop normally".
Meanwhile, representative of MM Mega Market Vietnam said that since the beginning of October, this system has increased the output of fresh produce to 300%, of which vegetables are the main commodity supplied from Da Lat and Moc Chau farms. In addition, businesses also fully stock up on pork, chicken, beef, fish... to ensure timely food supply in all weather conditions.

According to the representative of supermarkets, the factor that helps keep prices stable is proactive sourcing of goods from affiliated farms, having long-term contracts, along with a closed quality control and cold transportation chain. Consumers increasingly prioritize choosing products with certification and clear origins, so products that meet safety standards are still consumed stably, despite fluctuations in the outside market.
On the management side, Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City said that the current price stabilization solution is to promote the effectiveness of the market stabilization program, combining focused promotions and mobile sales. Many major distribution systems have been linking with suppliers and organizing promotional programs to support consumers, said Mr. Phuong.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Statistics Office, in October, the City continued to implement year-end shopping stimulus programs, helping trade and service activities maintain a fairly good growth rate, with total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue estimated to increase by 3.7% compared to the previous month, increasing by 13% over the same period, and increasing by 15% in the first 10 months of 2025.
The consumer price index (CPI) in October increased slightly by 0.14% compared to the previous month, increased by 3.5% over the same period and increased by 4% in the first 10 months of 2025.
