According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 24 hours, the peak water level at stations on the Saigon River and its dependencies has risen rapidly following the high tide in early September of the lunar calendar, reaching alert level 3.

According to Lao Dong, on Rach Cung Street (Binh Dong Ward), from around 4pm, the water in Doi Canal began to rise, causing flooding.
After only about 30 minutes, the surface of Rach Cung Street was flooded more than half a wheel, from about 40-60cm, affecting people's travel and daily activities.

Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Van, who lives on Rach Cung Street, said the flooding has been going on for many years.
"Normally, when the tide rises, water overflows the road, many vehicles stalled. Every month, when the water is high, it floods the knees. Every year, especially around the 8th to 10th lunar month, and then January," said Ms. Van.
According to her, many households in this area have to proactively prevent flooding by raising their house floors or installing pumps.
"It's easier for my house to raise the ground, but for many boarding houses and houses with lower ground, water must be pumped continuously and thoroughly," Ms. Van shared.

Rach Cung Street is where the Phu Dinh ferry route operates, with a large number of people passing by. The high tide during peak hours makes it more difficult for people to travel.
Mr. Thai Van Tai, a technology motorbike taxi driver, said: "I didn't know if the tide was high today, the road was flooded, if I had known in advance, I would have chosen another direction."

According to the forecast, this high tide will rise, continuing to peak above alert level 3 in the next 2 days (October 22-23), possibly causing flooding in low-lying areas, along rivers, which can affect people's travel and daily activities.
