Khanh Hoa has just publicly announced a list of 20 power projects with many types of renewable energy, paving the way to attract investors.

Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Finance has just publicly received investment proposal dossiers for 20 power source projects in the province in the period 2026 - 2030.

This is a step forward to accelerate the implementation of projects under the adjusted Power Plan VIII, contributing to ensuring energy security and promoting local economic growth.

According to the notice of the Department of Finance, the receipt of dossiers is carried out according to the direction of the Provincial People's Committee. The list of projects proposed by the Department of Industry and Trade includes many types of renewable and clean energy with a total of 20 projects.

In which, the solar power sector has 4 projects including: Lake CK7 solar power (50MW), Bac Ai 7 Lake Song Cai solar power (70MW), Song Sat Lake solar power (70MW) and Ninh Son 1 solar power (73.5MW).

The wind power sector has 6 projects including Tri Hai Wind Power Plant, Tri Hai Wind Power Phase 2, Dam Nai 3, Dam Nai 4 Wind Power Plant, expanded BIM Wind Power Phase 2 and Bac Son Wind Power with a total capacity of more than 256MW.

For hydropower, the province called for investment in 7 projects including Phuoc Hoa, Thuong Song Ong 2, Lam Son, Ha My Son, Phuoc Son, Phuoc Vinh 2 and the Song Ong hydropower expansion project, with a total capacity of more than 72MW.

The list also includes 2 waste-to-energy projects with capacities of 12MW and 40MW, and 1 pilot storage battery project with a capacity of 7MW.

Previously, the Department of Industry and Trade of Khanh Hoa province also had a document proposing to the Provincial People's Committee to allow investors to research and propose the above-mentioned energy projects.

According to this agency, these are all projects located in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions, meeting the conditions for applying the investor selection mechanism according to the National Assembly's resolutions on energy development and removing obstacles in the implementation of the Land Law.

Notably, the investor selection plan is proposed in the direction of shortening procedures. Specifically, if only one investor submits a proposal within the prescribed time, the investment policy approval and investor approval will be considered.

In case there are two or more investors proposing the same project, functional agencies will organize bidding to select investors according to the provisions of law.

The Department of Finance is the focal agency for receiving dossiers, and at the same time coordinates with the Department of Industry and Trade and related units to advise on the implementation of investor selection procedures to ensure publicity, transparency and competitiveness.

Interested investors can submit applications at the Provincial Public Administrative Service Center or through the National Public Service Portal.

The implementation of projects is expected to supplement electricity supply, promote the development of renewable energy and contribute to the implementation of the energy transition goal according to the orientation of the adjusted Power Plan VIII.

The development of new power sources is also in line with the direction of strengthening electricity supply and promoting energy transition in Khanh Hoa in the coming period.
