On May 21, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province announced that it had issued a document directing localities to strengthen the prevention and strict handling of acts of smuggling, trading, and illegal transportation of lobster seeds in the area.
Khanh Hoa province assigns the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Construction, Provincial Police, Provincial Border Guard Command, XIII Customs Sub -Department, localities to propagate and raise people's awareness about the risk of disease from illegal lobster and poor quality.
At the same time, the authorities are required to strengthen inspection and supervision at airports, sea routes, quarantine facilities, and shrimp seed production and trading facilities to promptly detect and strictly handle violations.
Coordination between relevant units to effectively combat violations of the law in the fields of fisheries, environment, and veterinary medicine will be further promoted.
Khanh Hoa Provincial Police assessed that in the coming time, the demand of people to buy lobster seeds is very high because it is the breeding season, accordingly, the price of lobster seeds will increase...
Taking advantage of the situation on many organizations and individuals, they will illegally import and transport lobster seeds across the border and trade in shrimp seeds of unknown origin, violating regulations on breeding breeds.
Notably, according to information from the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police force, from March 2024 to early April 2025, the whole province has detected and handled 13 violations related to lobster seed trading activities.
Of which, 1 case was prosecuted, 12 cases were administratively sanctioned with a total amount of nearly 900 million VND.
Nearly 850,000 smuggled lobster seeds, worth about 34 billion VND, were destroyed.
