Do not let congestion happen
In recent times, the State Treasury system (S treasury) has made efforts to coordinate with tax authorities nationwide to handle documents for personal income tax (PIT) refunds, ensuring speed, efficiency and accuracy for each citizen.
According to information from the Tax Department, since the official operation of the fully automatic personal income tax refund system, as of May 5, 2025, the whole country has transferred 256,797 electronic tax refund records to the KBNN for payment, with a total amount of over 1,169.66 billion VND.
The number of personal income tax refund documents has increased dramatically in recent times, coinciding with the tax settlement period and the period when the KBNN is being consolidated and reorganized according to the new management model from March 15, 2025. The rearrangement of functions and tasks between professional departments and a large workload in a short time has put a lot of pressure on the KBNN system.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Duc - Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam, Region I - said that since mid-March 2025, the number of tax refund orders has increased dramatically, an average of about 6,000 orders/day, peak days up to 14,500 certificates. The leaders of the State Bank of Vietnam, Region I, have proactively assigned and supplemented human resources to ensure the final handling of documents before 4:30 p.m. every day, while the documents arising afterwards will be handled completely the next day, without any delays or backlogs.
Statistics from the State Bank of Vietnam, Region I show that from the beginning of the year to May 5, 2025, more than 94,000 personal income tax refunds have been successfully implemented in Hanoi. Of which, from March 15 to April 27, 2025, there will be 56,273 expenditures and from April 28 to May 5, 2025, there will be 25,797 expenditures. Notably, despite the increased workload, other professional tasks of the unit are still guaranteed to be completed.
Mobilizing human resources to work day and night
To complete the huge workload, the State Audit Office of Region I mobilized human resources to work day and night, many staff of the State Accounting Department accepted to arrange family matters, working until 9:00 p.m. to complete documents on schedule, avoiding affecting people. These efforts show that the KBNN system after the restructuring and streamlining of the apparatus has maintained good professional operations, especially in handling tax refund documents.
At the same time, the KBNN also directed specialized units to implement improvements in professional processes, adjust programs, and upgrade technical infrastructure to shorten the processing time for electronic tax refunds. The goal is to ensure that documents are processed on the day of receiving orders from tax authorities, improving service capacity not only for individuals but also for businesses in the coming time.
Synchronous solutions in terms of human resources, processes and technology have helped the State Bank continue to coordinate effectively with relevant agencies, ensuring the refund of personal income tax is quick and accurate, creating convenience for people and businesses across the country.
