On August 28, THACO Group held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Chu Lai - Truong Hai Automobile Mechanical Industrial Park (IP) expansion in Nui Thanh commune, Da Nang city. The project is part of a series of works to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on September 2 (1945 - 2025).
The project has a scale of 115 hectares, with a total investment of nearly VND 8,000 billion, of which more than VND 1,400 billion is for infrastructure. This is a new-generation industrial park with a green, smart production model, integrating digital technology and artificial intelligence.
Key items include a new generation of spare parts factory, smart electrical and electronic equipment, robots, self-driving equipment, electric vehicle fast charging stations, control equipment for high-speed railways and many other high-tech products.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phan Thai Binh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City - emphasized: "Chu Lai Open Economic Zone has affirmed its position as the region's industrial - service - logistics growth pole, with THACO Chu Lai complex as the core. This expanded project will contribute to completing infrastructure, attracting mechanical - automobile and supporting industry enterprises to participate in the value chain, creating more high-quality jobs, promoting innovation and sustainable development".
According to the plan, the Chu Lai - Truong Hai Automobile Mechanical Industrial Park will be completed and put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2026. The project promises to increase production - export scale, promote port - logistics services, create jobs, improve labor skills and spread the spirit of technological innovation. This will also be an important step forward to turn the Central region into a national mechanical - automobile industrial center.
