On March 26, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the VSIP Thai Binh Industrial Park project. The groundbreaking ceremony was connected online from the Government headquarters to VSIP Thai Binh Industrial Park in An Tan and Thuy Truong communes, Thai Thuy district.
This is a program continuing the series of events to celebrate the visit of Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and his wife to Vietnam; at the same time, it demonstrates the continuous support of the Vietnamese Government for projects implemented by VSIP Group in Vietnam.
The VSIP Thai Binh Industrial Park project is implemented in An Tan and Thuy Truong communes (Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province) with a scale of 333.4 hectares, invested by Vietnam - Singapore Urban and Industrial Park Development Joint Stock Company (VSIP). The total investment capital for the project is more than VND 4,932 billion (equivalent to nearly 212 million USD).
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony at the Thai Binh bridge point, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee - said: "With the attention and support of the Government, August 29, 2023 became a special milestone, marking a new development stage for Thai Binh province with the event that the Prime Minister signed and issued Decision No. 1004/QD-TTg approving the investment policy of the VSIP Thai Binh Industrial Park project.Today's project groundbreaking ceremony has profound economic and social significance, marking a development step in attracting investment in Thai Binh province in particular and diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Singapore in general; creating a spreading force in attracting investment, creating new momentum, new motivation, gradually raising the level of economic and investment status, creating a premise for the strong development of Thai Binh province in the era of national growth".
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Binh province emphasized that the VSIP Thai Binh Industrial Park project is located in the strategic center of the Red River Delta with outstanding connectivity advantages when adjacent to the Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh economic triangle; the transport infrastructure system connects conveniently with major provinces and cities in the region such as: Ninh Binh - Hai Phong Expressway (CT.08), the coastal road from Quang Ninh to Thanh Hoa, the newly completed National Highway 37 put into use.
In order for the project to be completed and put into operation according to the registered schedule, promoting investment efficiency, Chairman of Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Manh Hung suggested that investors focus resources on implementing the project to complete it correctly or earlier than the registered schedule, and soon put the project into operation, meeting the need to attract secondary investors.
Within the framework of the groundbreaking ceremony, representatives of the VSIP Industrial Park project investor presented cooperation memorandums of understanding to many secondary investors; awarded 20 scholarships to students in An Tan and Thuy Truong communes, Thai Thuy district.
A representative of VSIP Group said that the VSIP Thai Binh Industrial Park project will be developed according to the low-carbon industrial park model. VSIP will cooperate closely with secondary investors to integrate solutions to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and optimize energy efficiency. VSIP's goal is to promote responsible industrial growth, meeting the increasingly high needs of the modern industry.
