According to the contents of the market information disclosure in March of the March 2025 of the State Securities Commission, ending the last session of March of March, the VN-Index reached 1,306.86 points, slightly up 0.11% compared to the end of February 2025. Meanwhile, the VN30 index also increased slightly by 0.55% to 1,363.88 points, whereas Vnallshare decreased by 1.05%, ending the month at 1,350.36 points.
Market developments in March have strong differentiation between industry groups. Most notably, the real estate industry index (VNREAL) increased sharply to 12.88%, clearly reflecting the positive changes of the real estate market in recent times. However, in the opposite direction, the information technology (VNIT), energy (VNENE) and materials (VNMAT) indexes recorded significant decreases of 13.48%, 8.73% and 5.60%, respectively, showing the strong adjustment of these groups of stocks after the previous period of heating up.
Market liquidity in the month also recorded a clear improvement. The average trading volume of stocks reached more than 878 million shares/day, equivalent to an average trading value of over VND 20,806 billion/day, up 33.2% and 31.83% respectively compared to the previous month. Secured- notary transactions (CW) also increased sharply in volume and value, reaching an average of more than 54.61 million CW/day and a value of nearly 49.76 billion VND/day, up 12.56% and 31.1% respectively. In contrast, ETF certificate liquidity decreased slightly, with the average trading volume reaching more than 2.58 million ETFs/day, equivalent to an average trading value of more than 65.64 billion VND/day, down 5.81% and 8.78%, respectively.
Regarding foreign investors' activities, the total trading value of foreign investors in March 2025 reached over VND 97,149 billion, accounting for more than 12.78% of the total trading value of the entire market. Foreign investors have conducted net sales in the month with a value of more than VND 9,560 billion.
As of the end of March, the market size on HOSE continued to expand with 568 listed stock codes, including 392 stock codes, 4 payment fund certificate codes, 17 ETF fund certificate codes and 155 securities codes, with the total volume of listed securities reaching over 175.12 billion securities. The listed stock capitalization value reached more than VND 5.45 million billion, equivalent to 47.4% of GDP in 2024, accounting for over 93.55% of the total market share capitalization value and increased slightly by 0.29% compared to the previous month.
