Advantages from trade gateways
In recent years, along with promoting investment in transport infrastructure and developing the border gate system, the Lao Cai border area is gradually forming new industrial growth poles.
In which, Ban Qua Industrial Park is expected to maximize its advantage of being located along the border corridor with China, anticipating trade flows when strategic traffic routes are completed.
Recently, Bat Xat Commune People's Committee coordinated with Lao Cai Industrial Development Investment Joint Stock Company to organize a conference to announce information about the Project to invest in construction and business of infrastructure of Ban Qua Industrial Park.

The project is implemented according to Decision No. 2170 of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee on approving the investment policy, and at the same time approving the investor.
Lao Cai Industrial Development Investment Joint Stock Company is the project implementation unit.
According to the plan, Ban Qua Industrial Park is invested according to the eco-industrial park model, with a scale of about 76.39 ha with a total investment of more than 1,360 billion VND.
The project is implemented in Bat Xat commune, expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2027.
According to the plan, the industrial park will be put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2027, the expected occupancy rate will reach about 10% in the first year, increasing to 50% in 2028 and reaching 100% in 2029.

According to reporters' records at the end of July, Ban Qua Industrial Park has a favorable location as it is located along the Vietnam - China border corridor, in an area that is being heavily invested in transport infrastructure.
In particular, when the connecting routes to the Kim Thanh Border Gate and Ban Vuoc Border Gate areas are gradually completed, the industrial park will directly benefit from the logistics network, freight transport and import and export activities.
The formation of an industrial park in this area not only opens up more industrial land for Lao Cai, but also contributes to effectively exploiting the advantage of international trade gateways, creating attraction for manufacturing, processing and logistics enterprises.
Ensuring consensus in the implementation process
Many people in Bat Xat commune expressed their expectation that the industrial park will create more local jobs and open up opportunities for service development for the locality.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung (resident of Bat Xat commune) shared that people want the project to be implemented on schedule soon to create more jobs for local workers, especially young workers who do not have to work far away.
We really hope that when the industrial park comes into operation, more businesses will come to invest, thereby creating stable jobs and promoting the trading and service activities of people in the area," Mr. Dung said.

Besides expectations, people also hope that compensation, support and resettlement work will be carried out publicly and transparently, ensuring the legitimate rights of households affected by the project.
Mr. Ngo Hoang Son - Vice Chairman of Bat Xat Commune People's Committee said that Ban Qua Industrial Park is an important project for the socio-economic development orientation of the locality.
According to Mr. Son, the project will contribute to forming a synchronous industrial infrastructure system, attracting investment, creating more jobs, increasing budget revenue and creating motivation for local development in the coming years.
The locality also determined that the implementation process will directly impact some households in the project area.
Therefore, all implementation steps will be closely coordinated with relevant agencies, ensuring publicity, transparency, objectivity, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people.
Bat Xat Commune People's Committee also requested households within the project area to maintain the current state of land, not to arbitrarily build works, plant perennial trees or create assets to profit from compensation policies when the State recovers land.

According to the requirements of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, the investor must implement the project in accordance with the approved objectives, scope and progress; complete all procedures on investment, land, construction and environmental protection before construction.
With its location close to the border corridor, convenient connection with international border gates and a synchronously invested transportation system, Ban Qua Industrial Park is expected to become one of the new growth drivers of Lao Cai.
Thereby contributing to promoting the advantages of trade gateways, attracting businesses, creating jobs and promoting economic development in border areas.
