Woodsland Tuyen Quang Joint Stock Company is one of the units with sports movements and cultural institutions for workers organized on a large scale and methodically. In addition to promoting production, cultural and sports activities for workers are regularly implemented by grassroots trade unions (CĐCS), creating playgrounds and cohesion for workers.
Mr. Pham Huy Xang - Chairman of the company's Trade Union - said that recently the grassroots trade union coordinated with the enterprise to organize a sports congress to create a joyful atmosphere, improve health, spiritual life, and build a healthy lifestyle throughout the company with nearly 500 union members and employees from departments, divisions, and workshops participating.
Many sports such as men's and women's 7-a-side football, men's and women's tug-of-war combined. men's and women's soft volleyball... are arranged flexibly at the end of working hours and weekends. Activities are maintained every 2 years on the occasion of the company's founding anniversary, contributing to encouraging workers to emulate production and improve productivity," Mr. Xang said.
Some grassroots trade unions have focused on light, short-term but regular mobilization activities, creating healthy playgrounds for workers right during breaks. For example, at Tai Shing Co., Ltd. (Son Duong commune), the sports movement is implemented in a flexible direction, suitable for the characteristics of production on a production line.
Mr. Do Van Dung, a company worker, said that recently the company's trade union organized a mini game "Lucky Coin" held during lunch break, each turn of play only lasts a few minutes, but attracts a large number of workers to participate.

Tuyen Quang Trade Union currently has 8 commune and ward trade unions with 310 grassroots trade unions, a total of 34,222 union members. In which, the non-business sector has 76 grassroots trade unions with 6,762 union members, and the production and business sector has 234 grassroots trade unions with 27,460 union members.
Trade union levels continue to effectively implement emulation movements associated with cultural and spiritual activities for union members, especially female workers and laborers such as the movement "Good at work, good at home", activities to celebrate International Women's Day March 8th.
Talking to PV, Mr. Ha Van Vy - Vice Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial Labor Federation - said that after the merger, some grassroots trade unions faced difficulties in terms of facilities, wide area, and large union members, especially in the production enterprise sector, so the organization of centralized activities is still limited.
Overcoming immediate difficulties, trade union levels have proactively and flexibly chosen appropriate forms, ensuring both maintaining cultural and sports movements and not affecting production and business activities, thereby constantly improving the spiritual life of workers," Mr. Ha Van Vy informed.
