Diesel oil prices reduced from 3 pm today
In the afternoon operating period of May 7, 2026, domestic gasoline and oil prices were adjusted up and down in opposite directions. E5RON92 gasoline increased by 1,664 VND/liter to a maximum of 23,790 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline increased by 603 VND/liter to 24,354 VND/liter. Meanwhile, diesel oil decreased by 678 VND/liter to 27,494 VND/liter, and mazut oil increased by 1,145 VND/kg to 21,172 VND/kg.
Compared to neighboring countries, gasoline and oil prices in Vietnam are still significantly lower. RON95 gasoline price in Vietnam is 24,354 VND/liter, lower than Thailand, Cambodia, China and Laos - where selling prices range from about 34,000-41,000 VND/liter. Hai Phong farmers are busy harvesting tobacco, income surpasses rice
In the early days of May, farmers in Tien Lang, Vinh Bao (Hai Phong) entered the peak of tobacco harvesting. This year, tobacco plants are developing well, with few pests and diseases, yield reaching 60-80kg/sao, many areas reaching 1 quintal/sao. With a selling price of 150,000-200,000 VND/kg, the average profit reaches 6-8 million VND/sao, much higher than growing rice.
Thanks to the application of modern farming techniques such as water-saving irrigation, using organic fertilizers and effective pest management, the quality of tobacco has been improved, contributing to increasing income and creating jobs for rural people. In the harvest season, people also maintain the form of "exchange labor", supporting each other in harvesting and preliminary processing to reduce costs and accelerate production progress.

Ho Chi Minh City promotes "Responsibility Green Button", increases food control in schools
Ho Chi Minh City is promoting the implementation of the "Responsibility Green Stick" program in schools to control the quality of semi-boarding meals after a series of suspected food poisoning cases occurred in primary and secondary schools in the area. Many schools have had to temporarily suspend semi-boarding meals, review procedures and change suppliers to ensure safety for students.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, the program aims to build a transparent food supply chain, clearly defining the responsibilities of each unit from supplying to processing school meals. The model will be piloted in May and is expected to expand to about 100 schools before the new school year, with the expectation of improving food safety standards in schools.
Experts and schools assess "Responsibility green tick" as a positive signal to help increase parental trust and improve the quality of semi-boarding meals.
