Gold prices fluctuate sharply, customers are solicited by strangers outside the store
Records at some gold, silver and gemstone stores in Hanoi show that many people stand outside the transaction area to approach customers, ask for buying and selling needs and offer prices higher than the listed price of the store.
Some customers said they felt surprised, uncomfortable and worried about the safety of the transaction.
This situation is reflected at Bao Tin Minh Chau and Phu Quy establishments. Customers said that some people offered to buy gold and silver at prices higher than store prices, even asking for phone numbers to contact for transactions later.
However, trading with unidentified people poses risks regarding origin, quality, product inspection, and liability in case of dispute.
Bao Tin Minh Chau confirmed the situation of some people standing outside the store, approaching customers to invite them to buy and sell gold. The business recommends that customers should not transact with strangers, buy and sell online or at addresses of unknown origin, and prioritize transactions at official business units with full invoices and documents to protect their rights. Indian buffalo meat is half the price of Vietnamese goods, small traders report "out of stock
Frozen Indian buffalo meat is being sold in Hanoi at a price of 135,000-173,000 VND/kg, only about half of the price of fresh domestic buffalo meat, commonly 240,000-300,000 VND/kg, even some delicious types up to 380,000-480,000 VND/kg.
Although import prices have increased compared to last year, the source of goods is currently quite scarce due to increased demand from restaurants and eateries.

In the first 6 months of 2026, Vietnam imported nearly 110,000 tons of meat from India, worth nearly 463 million USD, mostly frozen buffalo meat.
According to experts, importing buffalo meat is normal when domestic supply does not meet demand, as long as the product has legal origin, ensures food safety and is labeled in accordance with regulations.
However, the risk of trade fraud arises in the distribution stage when Indian buffalo meat is introduced as beef, Vietnamese buffalo meat or Northwest buffalo meat to be sold at a higher price. The Dong Nai Livestock Association believes that it is necessary to strengthen inspection and control of origin and labels to prevent this situation. See more...
