Flight tickets for holidays: Many routes are almost fully booked
On the peak day at the beginning of the April 25 holiday, Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City routes fell into a situation of almost full economy class seats. Many airlines such as Vietjet Air have run out of tickets, while Vietnam Airlines only has a very limited number of seats with prices from about 3.2 - 3.5 million VND/trip.

To meet the increasing demand, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has adjusted to increase the operating frequency at Tan Son Nhat International Airport from 44 to 46 flights/hour during daytime. The increase in slots aims to optimize operation, reduce air traffic congestion, save fuel and ensure flight safety.
Airlines also proactively increase supply, in which Vietnam Airlines Group is expected to provide about 1.12 million seats, an increase of more than 15% compared to the same period. Many main routes and tourist routes have been significantly increased in flights, but passengers are still recommended to book tickets early to ensure suitable choices during peak seasons. Expected to raise the taxable revenue threshold, reducing pressure on business households
At the National Assembly session, Minister of Finance Ngo Van Tuan proposed adjusting the non-taxable revenue threshold for households and individual businesses in the direction of not rigidly stipulating in the law but assigning it to the Government to decide (currently 500 million VND/year). The goal is to support businesses in the context of increased costs and reduced purchasing power.

In fact, many business households agree with raising the threshold, saying that the current level is outdated compared to the cost level. Although revenue can reach 1-2 billion VND/year, after deducting costs of renting premises, raw materials, labor... profits are not high. Business households propose raising the threshold to about 1 billion VND and only taxing the portion of revenue exceeding the threshold to ensure fairness and reduce financial pressure.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, General Director of Trong Tin Tax Accounting and Consulting Co., Ltd., the appropriate threshold may range from 1-2 billion VND/year, but it is necessary to classify by industry and profit margin instead of applying a common level. This approach both supports the right subjects, avoids budget revenue loss and ensures the principle of fairness in tax policy. See more...
Building material prices increase by nearly 30%, the dream of settling down is under more pressure
The sharp increase in construction material prices since the beginning of 2026 (many types increased by 10-30%) has significantly increased construction costs, putting great pressure on people and businesses. Many households have to temporarily postpone or narrow down construction scale, while construction projects are also over budget due to the continuous escalation of prices of steel, sand, stone, cement..., and even local sand scarcity.
The main reasons come from increased input costs and limited supply, especially in mountainous areas. Prolonged increases in material prices make estimation difficult, and many projects have to be constructed sparingly. This not only affects people's housing plans but also puts great pressure on the operations of construction businesses. See more...
