Lang Son Market Management speaks out about requesting documents of origin for dried cicada carcasses
Lang Son Provincial Market Management force has temporarily seized 9 bags of dried cicada carcasses, with a total weight of about 80kg, transported on a passenger car route Son La - Lang Son because the driver could not present invoices and documents proving the origin of goods at the time of inspection. The incident occurred on May 10 on National Highway 1A, passing through Dong Kinh ward.

According to functional forces, cicada carcasses (removed boats) are medicinal materials that are not on the list of prohibited goods, but when circulating in large quantities for business or for export, it is mandatory to have documents proving the origin and origin. The owner of the goods or the transporter needs to have a purchase list, sales invoice, information on quantity and packaging specifications as prescribed.
Because the cargo owner did not come to work and could not provide relevant documents, all the goods were sealed and taken to the headquarters of Market Management Team No. 1 for verification and handling. Functional forces said that if violations are determined, the cargo owner may be fined up to 50 million VND. See more...
Durian prices fall, small traders and gardeners lose profits
Durian prices in the Mekong Delta continued to be low in May, causing many gardeners and small traders to worry because profits are decreasing. In Can Tho City, low-grade Ri6 durian is retailed for only about 30,000 VND/kg, while good quality durian fluctuates from 60,000 - 70,000 VND/kg, much lower than the same period last year.

According to small traders, the main reason is the stagnation of exports, many warehouses tightening standards or limiting imports, causing a large amount of durian to switch to domestic consumption. Meanwhile, the rapid increase in planting area in recent years has caused supply to exceed demand, creating great pressure on the market and causing many gardeners to suffer losses, making it difficult to recover investment costs.
Although sellers try to manage by selling retail, wholesale or sending goods to other provinces themselves, the situation has not shown signs of improvement. Many opinions suggest that it is necessary to soon build a sustainable consumption linkage chain and expand a stable export market to avoid the situation of "bumper crop, price drop" repeating with durian.
