Early-ripening longan on the Song Ma River priced 4 times higher, still attracts customers
The Song Ma riverside area (Son La) is entering the early ripe longan harvest season with an urgent atmosphere throughout communes such as Chieng Khuong, Muong Hung, Chieng Khoong. The whole region has more than 1,000 hectares of early ripe longan, with an estimated output of 9,000-10,000 tons. Thanks to its beautiful appearance, sweet and fragrant taste and safety assurance, the product is favored by the market, and the current selling price ranges from 50,000-60,000 VND/kg.

This type of tree requires stricter care procedures, especially in terms of irrigation water, fruit pruning and pest and disease prevention. Thanks to harvesting 1-1.5 months earlier than the main crop, longan reaches a price 3-4 times higher, helping many households increase income significantly.
In addition, the trend of organic production and area expansion is being promoted in the locality. Cooperatives are strengthening technical guidance, helping to improve product quality and value. See more...
