On the afternoon of January 3, the Cao Bang Provincial Statistics Office held a press conference to announce socio-economic data for 2024. According to the report, the economic scale of Cao Bang is estimated at 25,204 billion VND, an increase of 6.74% compared to 2023.
A representative of the Provincial Statistics Office said that the service sector continues to play a pivotal role in the economic structure with a value of VND14,236 billion, accounting for more than 56% of the total scale.
The agriculture, forestry and fishery sector contributed VND5,294 billion, equivalent to nearly 21% of the proportion, while the industry and construction sector reached VND4,787 billion, accounting for about 19% of the economy.
The economic restructuring of Cao Bang is clearly evident, focusing on the service, industrial and construction sectors. In particular, the tourism industry has developed strongly, welcoming about 1.6 million visitors in the past year, contributing significantly to the growth of the province.
Of which, the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2024 increased by 6.74%, the highest level in recent years, with the industry and construction sector growing the strongest at 9.9%, followed by services with an increase of more than 7%.
Based on the achieved results and remaining limitations, the Cao Bang Provincial Statistics Office has proposed many solutions to effectively implement the socio-economic development goals in 2025.
At the same time, the province continues to promote digital transformation associated with administrative reform, improve the investment and business environment, and strengthen substantive dialogue with businesses and cooperatives to promptly remove difficulties.
In addition, Cao Bang will focus on overcoming difficulties in construction sites and materials, promoting disbursement of public investment capital, innovating tourism products and enhancing promotion to attract more tourists.
