Kon Tum speeds up the purchase of Ngoc Linh ginseng testing machines

Kon Tum requires districts to continue expanding the area of Ngoc Linh ginseng and cold-pressed coffee cultivation and speed up the purchase of ginseng testing machines.

In 2025, Kon Tum province aims to replant 1,000 hectares of cold-pressed coffee and nearly 1,580 hectares of Ngoc Linh ginseng, contributing to promoting the agricultural economy.

The province also plans to buy Ngoc Linh ginseng testing machines from the state budget to inspect quality, supporting people and businesses at reasonable fees. At the same time, the province is studying and proposing to exempt testing in investigations into the trade of fake ginseng and protect the brand of precious medicinal herbs.

Provincial Party Secretary Duong Van Trang has assigned the Department of Science and Technology to coordinate with relevant units to research and announce scientific works on saponin compounds in Ngoc Linh ginseng to enhance economic value and protect the brand.

Kon Tum Provincial Party Secretary, Mr. Duong Van Trang, requested localities such as Tu Mo Rong, Kon Plong, Dak Glei to continue expanding the area of two main crops, Ngoc Linh ginseng and cold-west coffee to increase economic value.

By the end of 2024, the area of cold-pressed coffee in the districts reached 4,331 hectares, completing 100% of the plan. Regarding Ngoc Linh ginseng, the planting area reached about 2,922 hectares, equivalent to 17% of the plan and 64.9% of the set target.

According to the People's Committee of Tu Mo Rong district, Ngoc Linh ginseng has helped nearly 2,000 households escape poverty, many families have the conditions to buy cars, improve their lives and get rich.
