On February 18, information from the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee said that the unit will direct the People's Committees of districts and the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment to remove difficulties in legal procedures for mineral exploitation enterprises.
Kon Tum province will have enough sand and stone quarries to serve the needs of infrastructure construction, transportation and housing of local people.
Thereby, avoiding the situation of transporting sand and stone from distant localities, increasing material prices, affecting the needs and economy of people and construction enterprises.
Currently, Kon Tum has 36 mines that have won the auction for mineral exploitation rights and are carrying out legal procedures to be granted a license.
Of which, 18 mines that won the auction in 2024 are preparing documents to grant mineral exploration licenses according to regulations.
There are 4 mines that have been granted exploration licenses and have not yet approved mineral reserves. There are 3 mines that have approved mineral reserves and have not yet submitted documents for investment policy issuance...
The main legal document problems are related to land compensation agreements for people, not included in the land use plan... Thereby affecting the progress of preparing documents for granting exploitation licenses.
For the quarry, Kon Tum currently has 13 quarries that are still in operation. Districts such as Ngoc Hoi, Tu Mo Rong, Ia H'Drai do not have stone quarry sites.
Therefore, transporting stone from another place will be very expensive, pushing up the prices of projects with state and private capital.
