Speaking to the press at the press conference on the afternoon of October 23 about the SemiExpo Vietnam 2024 Semiconductor Industry Exhibition, Mr. Vu Quoc Huy - Director of the National Innovation Center - said that Vietnam is currently facing the opportunity to deeply participate in the semiconductor industry and has clearly expressed its desire to become a link in the global semiconductor supply chain.

Developing the semiconductor industry, attracting international eagles

In recent times, Vietnam has been actively cooperating with leading technology corporations in the world to jointly cooperate and invest in developing the semiconductor industry ecosystem in Vietnam as well as developing high-quality human resources for this potential industry.

According to Mr. Vu Quoc Huy - the establishment of the Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Exhibition 2024 - SemiExpo Vietnam is a proactive step of the Ministry of Planning and Investment - as an advisory agency for socio-economic development strategy, to carry out the tasks in the Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy and the Human Resource Development Program for the Semiconductor Industry.

“In which, we focus on promoting international cooperation to mobilize resources for the development of the semiconductor industry, connecting investment and business between domestic and foreign enterprises to develop an ecosystem of supporting industries, attracting investment from the world's leading corporations and enterprises in the semiconductor field” - Mr. Vu Quoc Huy affirmed.

“SEMIExpo Vietnam 2024 is an important event for Vietnam as it is an emerging country in the global semiconductor supply chain. With strong government support and a focus on developing a strong semiconductor ecosystem, Vietnam is poised to make a significant contribution to the global supply chain,” said Linda Tan, President of SEMI Southeast Asia.

On November 7-8, 2024, the Ministry of Planning and Investment presided over and assigned the National Innovation Center (NIC) to coordinate with the Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI) to organize the Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Exhibition 2024 - SEMIExpo Viet Nam 2024 with the theme "Elevating Vietnam in the global semiconductor supply chain" at NIC Hoa Lac facility.
