Bank interest rates today, September 11th: Six banks have interest rates above 8%

VPBank recently announced many additional interest rate programs for eligible customers. In which, VPBank Prime members receive eVouchers with an additional 1%/year and 1.6%/year for eligible online savings on VPBank NEO.

The bank is also applying an additional rate of up to 2.5%/year for deposits from 1 million VND to 300 million VND, term of 1-24 months, for eligible customers. After the incentive, the interest rate can be up to 8.7%/year for a term of 6-13 months and 8.5%/year for a term of 15-24 months.

Previously, SCB adjusted the interest rate for the "Normal 13-month Deposit" product from 3.9%/year to 8.7%/year. Under normal conditions, this is currently the highest interest rate in the market for the 13-month term. The terms and other deposit products at this bank are kept unchanged.

The rate of 8.7%/year is also the highest interest rate in SCB's current deposit interest rate schedule. However, this rate only applies to the 13-month term of the "Normal 13-month Deposit" product, for customers receiving interest at the end of the term.

A survey of interest rates of more than 30 banks shows that some banks still maintain interest rates above 8%/year through programs or policies for customers who meet certain conditions.

PVcomBank is currently leading with an interest rate of 10%/year for 12-13 month term deposits, receiving interest at the end of the term. However, to enjoy this interest rate, customers must deposit money at the counter with an amount of 2,000 billion VND or more.

Next is MSB with an interest rate of 9%/year for 12- or 13-month term deposits. The applicable condition is that the savings book is newly opened or opened from January 1, 2018 and automatically renewed, and has a minimum balance of 500 billion VND.

Cake by VPBank currently lists the interest rate for late-term deposits at 7.2%/year for terms from 6-9 months. If choosing to receive interest at the beginning of the term, monthly or quarterly, the interest rates are 6.78%/year, 7.02%/year and 7.09%/year respectively.

For terms from 10-24 months, the end-of-term interest rate is applied at 7.4%/year.

Notably, from September 1st to the end of September 30th, 2026, Cake by VPBank implements an additional 2%/year program for first-time depositors, with amounts from 100,000 VND, terms from 6-12 months and no pre-term settlement. Incentives apply to standard deposits and accumulated deposits on the CAKE BANK application.

Thus, after adding incentives, the interest rate for deposits with terms from 6-9 months can be up to 9.2%/year.

For customers who do not deposit for the first time, Cake by VPBank also applies an additional 2%/year when depositing from 5 million VND, term from 6-24 months. The remaining conditions are similar to the program for first-time depositors.

Accordingly, with the listed interest rate of 7.4%/year for terms from 10-24 months, the post-preferential interest rate can be up to 9.4%/year.

At Nam A Bank, customers depositing from 500 billion VND or more for a 24-month term can enjoy interest rates up to 8.3%/year, which belongs to the group of high deposit interest rates on the market today. For deposits of the same value for a 36-month term, receiving interest at the end of the term, the applied interest rate is 8.1%/year after the General Director's approval.
