Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB) has just sharply reduced online deposit interest rates for terms of 1-12 months on the ACB One application.
Accordingly, online savings interest rates under 200 million VND are currently at 4.5%/year for a 1-month term, 4.6%/year for a 2-month term and 4.7%/year for a 3-month term, instead of the previous maximum level of 4.75%/year.
Notably, the 6-12 month terms decreased sharply: the 6-month term from 7.1%/year to 4.9%/year; the 9-month term from 7.2%/year to 5.1%/year; the 12-month term from 7.3%/year to 5.7%/year.
According to the interest rate table on the ACB website, for deposits from 200 million VND to under 1 billion VND, the interest rate is 0.1 percentage points higher than the group under 200 million VND. For deposits from 1-5 billion VND and from 5 billion VND or more, ACB applies a tiered interest rate table 0.5 percentage points higher than the adjacent group.
Thus, the highest interest rate according to the usual listing for deposits from 5 billion VND or more at ACB is currently 4.75%/year for terms of 1-3 months, 5.1%/year for terms of 6 months, 5.3%/year for terms of 9 months and 5.9%/year for terms of 12 months. ACB currently does not list online interest rates for terms over 12 months.
Meanwhile, the interest rate for receiving interest at the end of the term at the counter is listed by ACB at 4%/year for a 1-month term, 4.2%/year for a 2-month term, 4.4%/year for a 3-month term, 4.6%/year for a 4-month term and 4.75%/year for a 5-month term.
Longer terms include 6 months at 4.5%/year, 9 months at 4.7%/year, 12 months at 5.3%/year and from 13-36 months at 5.4%/year.
In addition to the usual listing, ACB also announced a special interest rate of 7%/year for customers depositing from 200 billion VND, term of 13 months.
To date, 7 banks have adjusted interest rates in May. Among them, ACB, VPBank and Sacombank reduced deposit interest rates; Bac A Bank increased interest rates for 13-month terms and then quickly reduced them back to the old level; OCB increased interest rates for many terms; Saigonbank strongly increased online savings interest rates for 13-month terms to 7.9%/year, and at the same time reduced deposit interest rates for terms of 7-11 months and 18-36 months.
