Agribank's highest interest rate in the Big4 group
The Big4 banking group including Agribank, Vietcombank, BIDV and VietinBank currently maintains a fairly similar deposit interest rate level, with the highest level of about 5.3%/year for long terms.
A survey of officially listed interest rates at banks shows that Agribank is applying an interest rate frame of 2.6 - 5.3%/year for deposits receiving interest at the end of the term. In which, the term of 1 - 2 months is 2.6%/year; the term of 3 - 5 months is 2.9%/year; the term of 6 - 11 months reaches 4%/year. Long terms from 12-18 months are listed at 5.2%/year and the highest level of 5.3%/year applies to the 24-month term.
At Vietcombank, the online deposit interest rate ranges from 2.1 – 5.3%/year for terms of 1–24 months. The interest rate is 2.1%/year applied for a 1-month term, 2.4%/year for a 3-month term, while the terms of 6 and 9 months are both at 3.5%/year. From a 12-month term, the interest rate reaches 5.2%/year and increases to 5.3%/year for a 24-month term.
BIDV also maintains a similar interest rate level, in the range of 2.1 – 5.3%/year for terms from 1 to 36 months. Specifically, the term of 1–2 months is 2.1%/year; the term of 3–5 months is 2.4%/year; the terms of 6 and 9 months are both at 3.5%/year. For terms of 12–18 months, the interest rate reaches 5.2%/year and the highest level of 5.3%/year applies to deposits from 24 months or more.
Similarly, VietinBank currently lists interest rates from 2.1 - 5.3%/year for personal deposits. Term under 3 months enjoys 2.1%/year, term from 3 to under 6 months is 2.4%/year, while the term group from 6 to under 12 months is at 3.5%/year. Deposits from 12 to under 24 months receive an interest rate of 5.2%/year, while the highest level of 5.3%/year applies to the term of 24–36 months.
Comparing the interest rate table shows that Agribank is higher in short terms when listing 2.6%/year for terms of 1–2 months, while Vietcombank, BIDV and VietinBank are at the same level of 2.1%/year. For terms of 12 months or more, the four state-owned banks all apply the same level, commonly 5.2–5.3%/year.
Special interest rates up to 7% - 9%
Interest rates in many banks are listed at high levels, up to 6.5-9%. However, to receive this interest rate, special conditions are required.
MSB announced an interest rate of 9%/year, applicable to newly opened customers (or savings opened from the beginning of 2018 automatically renewed with deposit terms of 12 months, 13 months) and deposits from 500 billion VND or more for a term of 13 months.
PVcomBank is applying a special interest rate of 9%/year for terms of 12–13 months when depositing money at the counter, with the condition of maintaining a minimum balance of 20,000 billion VND.
HDBank applies an interest rate of 8.1%/year for a 13-month term and 7.7%/year for a 12-month term, with a minimum balance of 500 billion VND.
Vikki Bank applies an interest rate of 8.4%/year for deposits from 13 months or more, with a minimum deposit amount of 999 billion VND.
Cake by VPBank applies an interest rate of 7.1-7.3%/year for terms from 6 to 24 months. In March, the bank also announced a policy of adding interest rates up to 0.9% for deposit interest rates from 6-month terms, pushing the highest savings interest rate to over 8%/year.
SeABank has just announced a preferential interest rate program from February 23rd to April 8th, 2026. Accordingly, customers depositing savings from 50 million VND with a term of 6 months or more can receive interest rates up to 8.3%/year.
For deposit accounts from 500 million VND at OCB, this bank lists interest rates of 6.7%/year for terms of 12-15 months; term of 18 months 6.9%/year; term of 21 months 7%/year; term of 24 months 7.1%/year; term of 36 months 7.3%/year.
Interest rate above 6.5%/year without conditions attached
In addition to special interest rate packages, many banks are also listing interest rates above 6.5%/year for long terms without requiring a minimum deposit amount.
Vikki Bank applies an interest rate of 6.5%/year for 6-month terms; 6.6%/year and 6.7%/year respectively for 12-month and 13-month terms. Cake by VPBank lists an interest rate of 7.3%/year for 6-month terms and 7.1%/year for terms from 7–36 months.
Bac A Bank lists interest rates of 6.5%/year for terms from 6–11 months; 6.5%/year for terms of 12 months; 6.6%/year for terms of 13–15 months and 6.7%/year for terms from 18–36 months.
VIB applies an interest rate of 6.5%/year for a 12-month term; PVcomBank applies an interest rate of 6.8%/year for terms from 15–36 months.
PGBank applies an interest rate of 7.1%/year for terms of 6-9 months; terms of 12-13 months are 7.2%/year; terms of 18-36 months are 6.8%/year.
MBV applies an interest rate of 6.5%/year for terms of 6-11 months; 7.2%/year for terms of 12-36 months.
BVBank applies interest rates of 6.6%/year for 12-month terms; 6.9%/year for 15-month terms; 7%/year and 7.1%/year for 18- and 24-month terms.
VietBank applies an interest rate of 6.5%/year for terms of 16 - 17 months; currently the highest deposit interest rate according to VietBank's listing is 6.6%/year, applied to terms of 18 - 36 months.
