A survey of interest rates of more than 30 banks shows that some banks still maintain preferential programs plus interest rates for customers, bringing interest rates in some terms to high levels.
In which, Cake by VPBank is listing interest rates for late-term deposits for terms of 6-9 months at 7.2%/year. If you choose the form of receiving interest at the beginning of the term, receiving interest monthly or quarterly, customers will enjoy interest rates of 6.78%/year, 7.02%/year and 7.09%/year respectively.
For terms from 10-24 months, Cake by VPBank applies an interest rate of 7.4%/year.
Notably, the bank is implementing a preferential program adding 2%/year for customers who deposit savings for the first time from 100,000 VND, applied to terms from 6-12 months on the CAKE BANK application. The program takes place from August 1 to the end of August 31, 2026. This preferential rate has increased by 0.2% compared to the previous month.
Thus, after adding incentives, the actual interest rate received at Cake by VPBank for some deposits can be up to 9.4%/year.
Previously, in July, the additional interest rate for customers depositing money for the first time at this bank was 1.8%/year.
Previously, Loc Phat Vietnam Commercial Joint Stock Bank (LPBank) was the bank that adjusted to increase the deposit interest rate schedule in August.
Accordingly, the interest rate for 1-2 month terms increased by 0.1 percentage points to 4.7%/year; the 3-5 month term also increased by 0.1 percentage points to the ceiling level of 4.75%/year.
Notably, LPBank has raised online deposit interest rates to exceed the 7%/year mark right from the 6-month term after increasing by 0.3 percentage points for terms from 6-25 months. Accordingly, the interest rate for terms of 6-11 months is 7.1%/year; the 12-month term is 7.3%/year; the 13--18 month term is 7.25%/year; and the 19--25 month term reaches 7.3%/year.
