On the afternoon of May 18, information from the People's Committee of Lam Dong province said that in the first 4 months of the year, the socio-economic situation of Lam Dong basically grew stably, and many economic targets were achieved and exceeded the set plan.
As of May 13, 2026, total state budget revenue in the province reached 14,503 billion VND, equal to 44.75% of the Central budget estimate and 42.11% of the local budget estimate.
Local budget expenditure reached 9,303 billion VND, equivalent to 20.64% of the central budget estimate and 19.07% of the local budget estimate.
Non-budget investment attraction activities continue to improve positively. The whole province has attracted and adjusted 37 projects with a total registered capital of more than 135,856 billion VND.
Notably, the Phan Thiet Airport project held a groundbreaking ceremony for the civil aviation item on April 27, 2026. Since the beginning of the year, the whole province has had 1,715 newly established businesses with a total registered capital of more than 8.7 trillion VND, an increase of 106% in the number of businesses and 180% in registered capital compared to the same period last year.
Key economic sectors continue to maintain positive growth momentum. Agricultural production ensures seasonal progress; industrial production grows quite well, many industrial products achieve good growth. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue increased by 15.33%.
The tourism sector recorded nearly 7.94 million visitors, an increase of 20.42% compared to the same period; of which international visitors reached more than 631,000, an increase of 23.33%.
From the above results, the province's GRDP in the first quarter of 2026 increased by 7.47%; the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector alone increased by 5.39%, exceeding the set plan.
Previously, on the afternoon of May 14, Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi chaired an expanded meeting of members of the Provincial People's Committee to deploy key tasks from now until the end of 2026.
Regarding the field of investment attraction, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi highly appreciated and acknowledged the results in the first months of the year of departments and sectors.
However, to achieve specific results, units focus on decisive action, statistics of problems, and results of removing projects weekly, in order to promptly rectify delayed dossiers.
Directing at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi emphasized that GRDP growth "two-digit" is Lam Dong's top political task. All departments, branches, units, and localities must devote all efforts to implementing this task.
Each field and each locality must develop specific plans and implementation roadmaps. In the process of implementation, any unit or individual who fails to complete the task must be held responsible, without shirking responsibility or blaming.
For projects under local authority, difficulties and obstacles in which fields, working groups and departments need to focus on removing them immediately, without blaming or shirking responsibility.
Regarding the field of land and housing facilities, surplus assets, the Department of Finance presides over and has specific handling plans.
