After implementing the policy of arranging administrative units, Lao Cai province entered a new period of development with a more open geographical space.

Total state budget revenue in the first 6 months of 2025 reached VND 8,133.3 billion, equal to 60% of the estimate assigned by the Central Government. Public investment disbursement is always in the group of leading localities in the country.
GRDP growth rate is estimated at 8.09%, exceeding the set scenario, ranking 6th out of 9 in the midland and mountainous areas of the North, and 17th out of 34 provinces and cities.
In investment attraction, the province has issued investment policy decisions for 38 projects, with a total registered capital of nearly VND 11,700 billion; 67 valid FDI projects with a total registered capital of 1,082 million USD.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, said: Right from the time of preparing for the merger, the Standing Committees of the Provincial Party Committees of Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces (old) have agreed to be ready to issue an action program and implementation plan of the Standing Committee of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee (new) to implement Resolution No. 68 of the Politburo on private economic development.
In order to continue promoting administrative reform and improving the investment and business environment, the Lao Cai Provincial Party Secretary requested the staff and civil servants to strictly implement the spirit of "5 no's": No delays; no harassment, no harassment; no overlap, no barriers; no impact on investment attraction and no shirking or avoiding responsibility.

At the same time, it is recommended that the business community promote the spirit of solidarity, cooperation, creativity, daring to think, daring to do, and connecting more closely to create a strong resonance, together overcoming challenges.
On this occasion, Lao Cai province launched the Lao Cai Provincial Business Association (new) on the basis of merging the Yen Bai Provincial Business Association and the Lao Cai Provincial Business Association (old).

This is an important milestone, marking the birth of a stronger representative organization, strengthening solidarity, mobilizing resources effectively, and orienting sustainable development for the business community; contributing to the overall development of Lao Cai province.
Mr. Tran Huy Tuan, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee also shared: Lao Cai aims to orient to become a center for economic exchanges, foreign affairs, and international cooperation with Yunnan province and the Southwest region (China); focusing on developing tourism, border gate services, metal processing industrial centers, and developing specific agriculture to supply the region and the whole country.
