On May 9, information from the People's Committee of Lao Cai province, the locality has just issued a plan to implement Decision No. 182 of the Prime Minister on the Project "Vietnam Farmers' Association participating in collective economic development in agriculture to 2030".
The plan aims to concretize the policy of innovating and improving the quality of Farmers' Association activities at all levels; and at the same time promote the role of the Association organization in propaganda, mobilization, and guidance of members to participate in developing collective economic models in agriculture.

According to the set target, by 2030, the whole province strives to establish at least 60 new agricultural cooperatives and 250 cooperative groups in the agricultural sector. Along with that, the province will consolidate and improve the operational efficiency of 100 cooperatives supported by the Farmers' Association to be established.
In addition, the locality sets a target to establish 400 new professional farmer association groups and 90 professional farmer branches; mobilize an additional 10% of member households to participate in collective economic models in agriculture.

Notably, at least 15% of professional farmer associations will be supported to develop into cooperative groups or agricultural cooperatives.
Lao Cai also strives to have at least 45% of cooperatives supported by the Farmers' Association to establish production and business links with businesses; about 30% of cooperatives have access to credit capital sources.
According to the plan, 100% of Association officials working in supporting collective economic development will be trained to improve their capacity; at least 90% of key cooperative officials will be trained and foster professional skills and management skills.

To achieve the above goals, the province will focus on synchronously implementing many solutions such as promoting propaganda and training; supporting the establishment and improvement of the operational efficiency of cooperative groups and cooperatives; improving the quality of human resources; strengthening capital and credit support and promoting international cooperation in agricultural collective economy development.
The Provincial Farmers' Association is assigned to preside over and coordinate with departments, branches and localities to organize the implementation of the plan, periodically summarize and report results according to regulations.
