According to Dak Lak Power Company, from the beginning of 2025 to now, the whole province has had nearly 200 customers investing in rooftop solar power systems to self-produc and self-consume.
However, only about 68 households and organizations have sent notices to management agencies in accordance with regulations.
Regarding this incident, Mr. Ha Van Chuong - Deputy Director of Dak Lak Power Company - said that the electricity industry always encourages people and businesses to invest in rooftop solar power to be proactive in consumption.
However, not notifying according to regulations causes difficulties in the operation and management of the national power system.
According to Mr. Chuong, the notification procedure only takes 57 minutes, completely free of charge. If not registered, the use of substandard equipment or incorrect connection can cause fire and explosion, affecting the general power grid.
Decree 58/2025 of the Government stipulates that organizations and individuals investing in rooftop solar power must notify the Department of Industry and Trade and the electricity unit, provide information on capacity, type, location, construction time... for guidance and safety assurance.
Currently, Dak Lak Power Company is reviewing and guiding unregistered households and businesses. In case the installation system is discovered to be not in accordance with regulations, the company will coordinate with the competent authorities to handle and request additional documents, ensuring compliance with the law.
Mr. Ha Van Dong (Buon Ma Thuot ward) said that his family installed a 7 kW capacity system in March 2025 at a cost of about 90 million VND.
Mr. Dong has fully implemented the procedures to notify the electricity industry for guidance and technical safety. Thanks to the use of solar power, the monthly electricity bill decreased from 1.5 million VND to less than 500,000 VND.
