The shipment of 2,430 packages with 21,870 fresh coconuts, total weight 23.5 tons of Hai Ninh Import-Export Trading Service Company Limited (Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh Province) has officially opened the declaration at Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch to export to China via Cau Bac Luan 2 Border Gate.
This is the first shipment entrusted for export by Mekong Fruit Import-Export Company Limited (Ben Tre province) and imported by Dongxing Huawang Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd (Dongxing, China).
Fresh coconut is one of Vietnam's strong agricultural products and is attracting great attention from the Chinese market. According to the plan, after this first shipment, the company will continue to export fresh coconut to China with an expected quantity of more than 10 containers per day.
Previously, on August 19, 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam and the Directorate of Customs of China officially signed three important protocols, paving the way for the export of fresh coconuts, frozen durians and crocodiles to the Chinese market.
According to statistics from the Mong Cai International Border Gate Management Board, from the beginning of 2024 to the end of October 20, the total volume of imported and exported goods through border gates and openings in Mong Cai city reached 1,414,168 tons, an increase of 12% over the same period in 2023.
At Cau Bac Luan 2 Border Gate alone, the volume of import and export goods reached 1,022,791 tons, an increase of 68% over the same period last year, averaging 3,640 tons/day. Of which, the volume of imported goods was 732,219 tons, and the export volume was 290,572 tons.
The smooth and quick customs clearance of the first batch of fresh coconuts not only opens up great opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to penetrate deeply into the Chinese market but also contributes to the goal of increasing Vietnam's agricultural export turnover through Mong Cai International Border Gate.
