On the morning of July 25, Krong Pac Commune People's Committee (Dak Lak province) organized the first durian auction at the garden within the framework of the Dak Lak Durian Festival 2026.
According to the Organizing Committee, the first auction lot includes 10 Dona durian gardens of 10 households with a total area of 14.36ha, with an estimated output of about 350 tons. All gardens have been granted planting area codes, located in areas with favorable traffic conditions; test results show no cadmium and heavy metals contamination, meeting export requirements.

10 businesses and cooperatives participated in the auction. Previously, the units had been disseminated the regulations, surveyed the actual raw material area and completed legal documents, proving financial capacity, purchasing, transporting and consuming.
The auction was organized in two rounds of secret ballot. After the ritual of checking and sealing the ballot boxes in the presence of representatives of households and businesses, the prices were recorded and voted directly.
At the end of round one, 8 businesses and cooperatives with the highest bids won the right to enter round two. In which, Nguyen Thuan Agricultural Import-Export Co., Ltd. offered the highest price of 66,000 VND/kg, which was chosen as the starting price for the deciding auction round.
Before entering the second round, Mr. Nguyen Thien Van, Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the response of people and businesses to the durian auction model in the raw material area.
According to Mr. Van, the fact that businesses boldly bargain right in the garden shows their companionship with farmers, while creating motivation to improve product quality, develop standard growing areas, promote digital transformation and apply science and technology in agricultural production.
He said that after the first auction round, the purchase price increased from the starting price of 55,000 VND/kg to 66,000 VND/kg, helping the value of the durian lot increase by about 4 billion VND.
Next, Nguyen Thuan Agricultural Import-Export Co., Ltd. offered a price of 68,000 VND/kg, the highest in the auction session and officially won the right to purchase the first batch of durian.
According to calculations by the Organizing Committee, with this winning auction price, the nearly 350-ton durian lot has a total value of about 23.8 billion VND.
After sorting, the expected purchase price for type C durian is about 55,000 VND/kg, type B is about 70,000 VND/kg, and type A ranges from 97,000-100,000 VND/kg.
