Vietnam National Payment Joint Stock Company (NAPAS) has just successfully organized the 2025 Customer Conference in Da Nang city. This is an annual event to express gratitude and honor member organizations (APs) that are payment intermediaries (TPs) that have accompanied and made important contributions to the NAPAS system in the past year.
The event was attended by the NAPAS Board of Directors and representatives of more than 40 TGTT units in the member network.
At the conference, NAPAS and units shared and exchanged opportunities for sustainable development of the payment market in the context of many major changes in the country's economy. In particular, the electronic payment sector has recorded an important step forward with Decree No. 52/2024/ND-CP of the Government on non-cash payments and Circular 40/2024/TT-NHNN of the State Bank on the provision of payment intermediary services, helping to expand the scope, scale of operations as well as development potential for payment service providers.
At the same time, people's cashless payment habits continue to increase, reflected in the growth of daily transactions. According to the State Bank, in the first 7 months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, non-cash transactions increased by 44.4% in quantity and 25.04% in value; transactions via QR codes alone increased by 66.73% in quantity and 159% in value. These figures show a clear shift in consumer behavior, creating a favorable foundation for the development of the digital payment ecosystem.
Faced with the opportunities and needs of the development of electronic payments, NAPAS and payment service providers have reviewed the outstanding results in 2025 and proposed a sustainable cooperation orientation in the coming time.
Specifically, NAPAS and payment service providers have coordinated to implement many key projects including: e-wallet transfer service; VIETQRPay Payment service at domestic payment acceptance points; VietQR Global serving international tourists; NAPAS Apple Pay payment; Tap and Pay; Payment in public transport with metro, bus... These services contribute to diversifying payment methods, meeting the increasingly high demand of users.
In the coming time, NAPAS will continue to promote the implementation of building a digital payment platform (NAPAS Digital Payment Platform) to support payment for cards, accounts, e-wallets, QR, ... on online transaction channels and payment acceptance points, helping to optimize user experience. At the same time, NAPAS and payment gateways coordinate to expand the network of payment acceptance units, focusing on developing a network of payment acceptance with VietQR Global code to serve international customers.
NAPAS is committed to continuing to closely coordinate with payment service providers in deploying effective services, promoting connectivity, linkage, and safety in the system, promoting the role of a reliable bridge between the Bank and payment service providers. At the same time, NAPAS believes that the support of units will together create an open playground - where payment service providers can cooperate, develop and bring superior payment solutions to customers.
Also within the framework of the conference, NAPAS held a Ceremony to honor outstanding payment service providers. The awards are built by NAPAS based on criteria such as: transaction growth, online payment efficiency and dynamism in service implementation.
