On June 7, information from the Nghe An Provincial Statistical Office said that from the beginning of the year to the end of May 2025, the whole province has 937 newly registered enterprises, an increase of 7.7% over the same period in 2024. However, the registered capital only reached VND 4,607.4 billion, down sharply by 66.77%.
On the other hand, 1,040 enterprises registered to temporarily suspend operations (up 4.73%), 150 enterprises were dissolved (up 44.23%) and 316 enterprises announced to be dissolved (up 66.32%). Meanwhile, the number of enterprises returning to operation only reached 378, down nearly 10%.

The labor utilization index in the industrial enterprise sector increased by 8.48% over the same period. Notably, the foreign-invested enterprise sector increased by 17.74%, while the state sector decreased by 6.71% and the non-state sector decreased slightly by 0.44%.
The Industrial Production Index (IIP) in May is estimated to increase by 18.4% over the same period, bringing the accumulated increase for 5 months to 13.89%. Of which, mining increased by 15.91%, manufacturing increased by 13.69%, electricity, gas, hot water and air conditioning production and distribution increased by 16.01%.
Regarding finance and budget, State budget revenue in the first 5 months of the year is estimated at VND 10,846 billion, equal to 61.2% of the estimate, up 3.5% over the same period. Local budget expenditure reached VND 20,889 billion, equal to 49.7% of the annual plan.
Export turnover in May is estimated at 320 million USD (up 11.63%), bringing the total turnover in 5 months to 1.461 billion USD. Imports in the first 5 months of the year are estimated at 1.124 billion USD, down from the same period.
As of May 20, the whole province has disbursed more than VND 2,703 billion in public investment capital, reaching 27.03% of the annual plan.
Discussing the situation of business development, Mr. Le Hong Vinh, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee emphasized: "The province always identifies businesses as an important driving force for socio-economic development. We persist in administrative reform, improve the efficiency of public service management, proactively remove obstacles and create maximum favorable conditions for businesses to stabilize and expand production and business."
Nghe An provincial leaders also pledged to continue improving the investment environment, accompanying businesses in a spirit of openness, service and responsibility.
