Reflections on E10 gasoline gradually decreasing after more than a month of implementation
At the seminar "E10 - Foundation for a sustainable biofuel market" organized by Xay Dung Newspaper on the afternoon of July 13, Dr. Dang Tat Thanh - Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion - said that as of now, we have been mixing for more than 1 month. In the process of implementation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has received some feedback and recommendations from consumers.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has implemented the reception of feedback and recommendations according to regulations and conducted inspections of feedback in the fastest way. The feedback and recommendations are recorded via email and are checked and evaluated according to regulations based on current regulations and standards and actual conditions, consulting from relevant units, thereby having clear answers. This is the basic principle for the Ministry of Industry and Trade to implement in the past time.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade does not miss feedback and recommendations from users and businesses. Conduct objective inspections, coordinate with specialized agencies, businesses, gasoline and oil production plants, vehicle production plants, and associations.
Initial data shows that, up to now, feedback and recommendations are increasingly less and consumers no longer have much concern about using E10 gasoline.
E10 gasoline quality is strictly controlled from import to circulation
Speaking about the quality control of E10 gasoline, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi - Head of the Standards Committee, National Standards and Metrology Committee, Ministry of Science and Technology - said that for imported goods and manufactured and mixed goods, regulations on sampling methods, sample quantities, and sampling methods are implemented very strictly.
In addition, regulations on inspection equipment, measurement and quality control are also managed according to the law on measurement. The current regulation system ensures strict control of gasoline and oil quality.
Regarding state management of imported goods, large-scale imported shipments or imported for mixing and trading must comply with the process of sampling, saving samples, testing and preservation in accordance with legal regulations, including Decree 37/2026/ND-CP dated January 23, 2026 on the method of sampling for imported goods and domestically produced goods is also specifically regulated in the National Technical Regulation (QCVN).

For imported goods, the assessment is carried out in batches. Regulations on sampling methods, sample quantity, and sampling locations such as upper floors, lower floors, and bottom floors are very strict.
For domestically produced goods, management is carried out according to method 5, including system evaluation combined with sampling at the production site or on the market. Sampling frequency and monitoring activities are also specifically regulated.
It can be affirmed that the current system of legal and technical regulations has created a solid basis for managing and controlling the quality of gasoline and oil.
Mr. Dao Cong Quyet - representative of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) - said that as soon as he received the plan to deploy E10 gasoline, VAMA participated in contributing opinions and accompanying state management agencies in the process of developing standards and implementation roadmaps.
On that basis, member companies have proactively reviewed and informed customers about the compatibility of each car line.
Basically, most of the car models currently in circulation can use E10 gasoline.
However, for cars manufactured before 2005, especially cars using carburetors, there may still be some details that have not been designed or standardized for long-term use with ethanol-containing fuel, leading to the risk of aging or corrosion of some parts. Meanwhile, car models manufactured from 2005 onwards are generally compatible with E10 gasoline.
For older models, we have strengthened communication and recommended customers to bring cars to genuine dealers for inspection, evaluation and consultation, especially for non-metallic details and parts that may be affected by ethanol. The dealer system and member companies will support inspection and consultation to ensure that vehicles switch to using E10 gasoline appropriately and safely," Mr. Quyet said.
