Quang Van Bookstore has just organized a book launch event "The Ninth Revolution - How has the Agriculture Evolutionated in the New Era" with the participation of Prof. Sayed Nader Azam-Ali - author of the book.
In addition to his role as an author, Prof. Sayed Nader Azam-Ali is also one of the world's leading prestigious agricultural scientists, with extensive experience in the field of agricultural development and international policy making.

Sharing about the reason for the book's birth, Prof. Sayed Nader Azam-Ali said that after 14 years of working in Southeast Asia, the idea of writing a book has been formed. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when work was interrupted, Prof. Sayed Nader Azam-Ali has the opportunity to look back on his research journey, especially on food ecosystems.
I hope the book will help readers reflect and re-evaluate the current food industry system, towards a more diverse model - Prof. Sayed Nader Azam-Ali said.
Sharing about the importance of rarely used plant varieties today, Prof. Sayed Nader Azam-Ali emphasized the need to diversify crops.
Millions of years ago, people used to use many types of plants, but now they only focus on four main varieties. Expanding the source of seeds is necessary to adapt to unpredictable fluctuations in climate, politics and the environment - Prof. Sayed Nader Azam-Ali reviewed.
Talking about the value of the book to agricultural workers in Southeast Asia and Vietnam, Prof. Sayed Nader Azam-Ali believes that the work brings many suggestions in the context of increasingly severe climate change.
Although Vietnam faces drought, salinity and rising sea levels, biodiversity advantages are an important foundation for the development of crop and livestock species. According to him, the book will help encourage farmers to expand their options and diversify crop varieties to build a more sustainable agriculture in the future" - he commented.
In the sharing exchange, Mr. Trinh Minh Tuan - Director of Quang Van Publishing and Education Joint Stock Company - asked about policy proposals to help Vietnam develop sustainable agriculture.
Responding to the question, Prof. Sayed Nader Azam-Ali emphasized the role of the Government in supporting the entire agricultural supply chain, from production to export. He cited the example of the Government in Indonesia and Malaysia, which has policies to accompany farmers throughout the production process, helping to increase the value and competitiveness of agricultural products.
Not only supporting production, but Vietnam also needs to promote the quality and diversity of agricultural products to international markets. Many valuable fruits such as longan and rambutan are still not widely known. In addition, it is necessary to overcome limitations in the supply chain such as refrigeration and traceability, while applying blockchain technology to ensure transparency and accuracy in each stage, from production to when products reach consumers - Prof. Sayed Nader Azam-Ali said.
At the end of the presentation, Prof. Sayed Nader Azam-Ali expressed his joy at sharing with Vietnamese readers. He hopes the book will inspire policymakers, researchers and especially the younger generation, in building a sustainable, diverse economy that better adapts to global fluctuations.
