According to traders at Dragon Market, they closed due to information that the market management and tax forces are conducting inspections to prevent counterfeit, counterfeit, and trade fraud.
Ms. Oanh - who has been selling clothes at Dragon Market for more than 30 years - said: "We have been doing retail business in the traditional form for a long time, although we have invoices and documents, we are still very worried when the authorities check. Traders like me really need the authorities to guide how to get the origin and have specific instructions in fighting against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods so that we can grasp the specifics and be able to trade with peace of mind".
Not opening a store but still coming to the market to listen to the situation because of the same concern for many days, Ms. Thuong - the owner of a children's toy store - said: "Seeing people closed, I don't dare to open a store. This is a traditional market, small traders have been in business for many years, so we really hope that the authorities will consider and create conditions suitable to the business practices of small traders at the market".
Faced with this situation, the Dragon Market Management Board has actively encouraged owners of businesses to reopen normal operations to serve the people.
A representative of the Dragon Market Management Board said that this market currently has more than 1,500 kiosks and stalls with nearly 700 business households. In recent days, many traders have closed stores because they are worried about information about checking invoices and the origin of goods. The Market Management Board has also proactively propagated and instructed traders on legal regulations.
