Proud of a journey
Right after the liberation of the province (April 16, 1975), the Ninh Thuan Party Committee urgently took over and established revolutionary governments at all levels, maintained security and order and stabilized people's lives. In the myriad of difficulties of the post-war period, the province has mobilized all its efforts to eliminate illiteracy, restore healthcare, production, and build a national defense force.
From 1976 to 1991, Ninh Thuan was part of Thuan Hai province. Under the impact of the renovation process, Ninh Thuan people have gradually overcome difficulties, arousing the internal strength of socio-economic development in many fields. In 1992, Ninh Thuan was re-established, opening a new period full of expectations and challenges.
After 33 years of re-establishment, the province has made a strong breakthrough. From a purely agricultural province, Ninh Thuan has become a bright spot for the development of the marine economy, renewable energy industry, high-tech agriculture and green tourism. That achievement is a testament to the solidarity, creativity, and steadfast political will of the entire Party Committee, government, and people in the province.
Accelerating on the development journey
In 2024, in the context of many difficulties and challenges, Ninh Thuan still achieved impressive results: GRDP increased by 8.74%, ranked 4th/14 regional provinces and 16/63 provinces and cities; GRDP per capita reached 98.2 million VND; budget revenue of more than 4,200 billion VND, exceeding the plan by 6.2%. In particular, the contribution from the marine economy accounts for 42.22% of GRDP - affirming its spearhead role.
The fields of trade, services and industry all grew quite well; high-tech agriculture grew beyond the target; public investment disbursement met requirements. Ninh Thuan also became one of the 10 provinces leading the country in attracting FDI with a total capital of more than 1.2 billion USD. The operation of the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway contributes to raising the level of regional connectivity.
At the same time, the province focuses on social security, poverty reduction, taking care of policies, national defense and security are maintained, the work of building the Party and the political system is promoted with many comprehensive and effective innovations.
Ninh Thuan focuses on implementing 6 key groups of tasks, including innovating the growth model, perfecting strategic infrastructure, building a clean and strong Party and political system, reforming administration, ensuring national defense and security, and deeply integrating into the international community, for one goal: Rapid, comprehensive, sustainable development, for the happiness and prosperity of the people.
In 2025 - a year of paramount significance, accelerating to complete the goals of the term - Ninh Thuan aims to improve growth quality, taking advantage of opportunities from digital transformation, green transformation and sustainable development. Along with restarting the nuclear power project, the province is focusing on institution building, improving competitiveness, and developing high-quality human resources.
At the 8th session, the XV National Assembly issued Resolution No. 174 to continue implementing the investment policy of Ninh Thuan nuclear power project. This is an important step in the strategy of sustainable energy development and national energy security; Meeting energy requirements for green development, sustainable development, effective response to climate change and environmental protection in the new situation and meeting the goal of two -digit economic growth in the new era, along with the strong development of artificial intelligence, cloud computing.
