Right from the morning of the 1st day of Tet Binh Ngo 2026, the area of Kim Thanh Road International Border Gate No. II (Kim Thanh Border Gate) was bustling with trucks carrying export agricultural products.
Customs, border guard, and quarantine forces maintain duty throughout Tet, ensuring smooth customs clearance, creating a positive atmosphere for import and export activities at the beginning of the year.

The "first-foot" shipment at the border gate is a truck carrying more than 17 tons of durian meeting export standards to Ha Khau (China). According to statistics, on the 1st day of Tet, the entire border gate had 13 agricultural vehicles completed procedures, including 11 export vehicles and 2 import vehicles.
Similarly, on the 2nd day of Tet, trucks carrying fresh agricultural products such as durian, dragon fruit, and apples were also quickly cleared and ensured regulations.

To prevent the flow of goods from being interrupted, customs forces arrange permanent staff at key positions, promote electronic declaration, and prioritize handling procedures for agricultural products. When businesses have needs, procedures are handled flexibly, even outside office hours, minimizing waiting time.
Mr. Tran Anh Tu - Head of Lao Cai International Border Gate Customs Team said that the unit has assigned officials to be on duty throughout Tet, ensuring sufficient conditions to resolve procedures quickly, in accordance with regulations, safely and effectively.

In parallel with the customs force, the Border Guard maintains 100% of the on-duty force, strengthens control of people and vehicles entering and leaving the country, and maintains security and order in the border gate area.
Plant quarantine work is also strictly implemented, Tet duty officers are ready to take samples, inspect, and supervise the quality of goods according to regulations, both ensuring safety and shortening customs clearance time.

Representatives of Thanh Phong Transportation Service One Member Limited Company said that on the 1st and 2nd days of Tet, the enterprise exported nearly 10 dragon fruit trucks.
Although it is the first day of the year, functional forces are still working fully, procedures are quick, creating favorable conditions for businesses," a business representative shared.
Similarly, the leader of Ha Son Import-Export Co., Ltd. said that the unit still maintains a steady volume of trucks during Tet, averaging 7-10 trucks per day, ensuring delivery progress with partners.

Maintaining import and export activities throughout Tet is of great significance, not only helping businesses maintain the supply chain but also contributing to limiting goods congestion after the long holiday. This is also a favorable premise for border trade activities to flourish in the new year.
Kim Thanh border gate was opened in November 2012, belonging to the Lao Cai (Vietnam) - Ha Khau (China) international border gate pair.
In recent years, trade activities through Kim Thanh Border Gate have grown significantly. In 2023, total import and export turnover through the border gate reached over 1 billion USD. In 2024, turnover continued to break through, exceeding the 2.2 billion USD mark.
By 2025, total import and export turnover will reach more than 1.8 billion USD, making Kim Thanh a trading point worth billions of USD each year of Lao Cai province.
