Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long said that in the context of the world and regional situation continuing to be complicated, especially the conflict in the Middle East increasing the risk of supply disruption, fuel price fluctuations and creating more pressure on energy security of many energy importing countries, the requirement to use energy economically and efficiently in our country is becoming increasingly urgent, including Vietnam.
According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long, this spirit has been consistently identified in the major policies of the Party and State, especially Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW on ensuring national energy security; Conclusion No. 14-KL/TW dated March 20, 2026 of the Politburo on tasks and solutions to ensure supply and stable fuel prices, meeting the requirements of socio-economic development in the new situation; along with Directive No. 09/CT-TTg dated March 19, 2026 of the Prime Minister on strengthening energy saving, promoting energy transition and developing electric vehicles and Directive No. 10/CT-TTg dated March 30, 2026 of the Prime Minister on strengthening energy saving and developing rooftop solar power.
These guidelines and directions clearly show that using energy economically and efficiently today is no longer just a technical solution or a movement recommendation, but has become a practical requirement, common responsibility and task that needs to be strongly and synchronously implemented at all levels, sectors, localities, businesses and people," Deputy Minister Long emphasized.
To bring major guidelines and policies into life, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long emphasized that the press plays an extremely important role. The press is not only a bridge to transmit information, but also contributes to orienting awareness, spreading positive values, discovering good models, effective ways of doing things and promoting behavior change throughout society.
The Press Award for propaganda on economical and efficient energy use is organized to continue to promote the pioneering role of the press in this field; thereby contributing to raising social awareness, creating changes in action and gradually forming a culture of economical and efficient energy use in the community," Deputy Minister Long said.
According to Deputy Minister Long, this year's award continues to be organized with the spirit of innovation, closely following reality and development requirements in the new period. This is a wide topic space, rich in topicality and with many practical materials for the press to exploit, from saving electricity in production and daily life, using energy efficiently, developing clean energy, to green transition and changing consumption behavior towards sustainability.
