HCMC - KOOL BLIZZARD ship carrying 27,000 tons of LNG has safely docked at Cai Mep - Thi Vai port area.

On April 8, the KOOL BLIZZARD ship carrying about 27,000 tons of LNG from Brunei safely docked at the port in the Cai Mep - Thi Vai area.

Immediately after docking, the KOOL BLIZZARD ship quickly entered the LNG pumping process, expected to be completed on April 9. This amount of LNG will be recycled into gas, integrated into the distribution system to supply to power plants in the Southern region.

The successful reception of another LNG ship is of great significance to the Vietnamese energy market, contributing to stabilizing gas supply, avoiding breakdowns, serving development, especially when entering the peak dry season.

Previously, Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) has been proactively implementing many solutions to ensure gas sources for production and electricity generation, in the face of fluctuations in the world energy market and expected high electricity demand in the southern region. For example, proactively diversifying LNG import sources from many markets, including Qatar, Brunei and Southeast Asia, and increasing domestic gas production to ensure stable supply.

PV GAS is also implementing a plan to increase LNG recharging capacity to be ready to meet power generation demand during the peak dry season. In which, the unit has just tested the safety and stability of the recharging system at 288 tons/hour, significantly higher than the initial design capacity of 171 tons/hour, equivalent to about 9.5 million Sm3/day.
