On the morning of July 26, Mr. Tran Xuan Tay - Chairman of Nha Trang Ward People's Committee - confirmed that the local working group had inspected Thanh Suong business establishment after receiving feedback from tourists about the forgery of Thanh Suong restaurant's name.
According to tourists' feedback, the address "102" Tran Phu at this restaurant was obscured and replaced with the number "15", easily confusing customers with the real address of the famous Thanh Suong restaurant.
When tourists ask taxi and cyclo drivers to take them to Thanh Suong restaurant, these drivers deliberately take them to Thanh Suong restaurant "trip" at 102 Tran Phu.
The inspection team of the Department of Economy, Infrastructure and Urban Areas of Nha Trang Ward conducted a surprise inspection on the evening of July 25.
At the time of work, the owner of the facility, Mr. Nguyen Tan Viet, was absent, the representative was Mr. Nguyen Son Tung.
The inspection team noted: The facility did not have all the issued signs; the certificate of food safety training was not fully demonstrated according to the number of employees; did not present fire prevention and fighting records, regulations, and fire prevention and fighting regulations; damaged fire extinguishers could not be used.
In addition, Thanh Suong facility still owes taxes and late payment fees with a total of more than 61 million VND.
The interdisciplinary inspection team determined that the facility showed signs of deceit or confusion to consumers when providing false, incomplete and inaccurate information according to regulations.
The interdisciplinary working group will review the information and violations of Thanh Suong seafood restaurant after the inspection to serve as a basis for handling violations later.
Chairman of Nha Trang Ward - Tran Xuan Tay emphasized: "The government and the Nha Trang tourism industry always create favorable conditions for business activities, but resolutely strictly handle establishments that extort and deceive customers.
According to Mr. Tran Xuan Tay, in the coming time, Nha Trang ward is ready to receive feedback from people, tourists and press agencies to promptly rectify and maintain the image of local tourism.
Once punished for "copying" the name of a famous seafood restaurant
In 2024, tourists coming to Nha Trang also reported business activities showing signs of being ripped off at the establishment at 102 Tran Phu as well as eating at Thanh Suong restaurant.
Many tourists also reported that some taxi drivers in Nha Trang deliberately take them to the restaurant they did not choose to receive "commissions", which has caused much outrage.
After that, the government of Nha Trang City (old) administratively fined this facility a total of more than 34 million VND for violations such as advertising goods that were not expressed in Vietnamese;
does not fully display the name of the production and business establishment in accordance with the business registration certificate; listing prices unclearly causes confusion for customers.
