On July 26, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van - Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee - went to the scene to listen to a report and survey the proposed opening point of the Ho Le border gate, located in Ia Da commune.
According to the report of the leader of Ho Le Border Guard Station (under the Quang Ngai Provincial Border Guard Command), Quang Ngai is a province with a national border bordering Laos and Cambodia. The border line bordering Ratanakiri province (Cambodia) currently does not have a border gate.
To facilitate the development of the socio-cultural economy, serving the needs of medical examination and treatment, buying and selling, exchanging goods of border residents and traders, etc., the functional sector of the old Kon Tum province has proposed to the competent authority to allow the opening of the Ho Le border gate at the No. 19 landmark area.
The landmark 19 area - the planned location for opening the Ho Le border gate - has flat terrain, large area, convenient for arranging border gate functional areas when approved by competent authorities and infrastructure construction planning.
The transportation system here is also conveniently connected, effectively serving the cross-border and trade between the two sides of the border.
According to Major Cao Viet Hao - Head of Ho Le Border Guard Station - opening the Ho Le border gate not only ensures national defense and security, but also contributes to promoting local socio-economic development; strengthening people's diplomacy, military diplomacy and border diplomacy; serving the fight against crime, smuggling, and trade fraud on the border; creating a favorable environment to build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative border for development; contributing to developing domestic production, improving the lives of people in border areas.
After listening to the report from the leaders of Ho Le Border Guard Station and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Quang Ngai province, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van emphasized: If the Ho Le border gate is opened, it will create favorable conditions for the people of the two countries to trade and trade.
Ratanakiri province (Cambodia) has flat terrain, large cassava growing area, potential for agricultural development and agricultural processing industry. Opening border gates will help people on both sides of the border develop the economy and improve their lives.
The Department of Foreign Affairs of Quang Ngai province is responsible for continuing to connect and report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; at the same time, advising on new documents for the province to recommend the Vietnamese Government to discuss with the Royal Government of Cambodia about opening the branch of Ho Le border, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van requested.
