On October 16, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department, in the third quarter of 2025, the market situation in Ho Chi Minh City will be stable, the supply of food, foodstuffs, and essential goods will be abundant, and prices will be stable. Markets, supermarkets, shopping malls and convenience stores operate normally, goods are not scarce.

Petroleum business activities in the area are stable, contributing to ensuring supply and demand and favorable conditions for businesses and consumers.

The domestic gold market fluctuates strongly, with a large difference compared to world prices, affecting people's buying and selling psychology and causing local instability in business.

The situation of smuggling, counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, and infringement of intellectual property rights is still complicated, especially through e-commerce. The subjects take advantage of online platforms to do business in poor quality, difficult to control. Many violating items focus on food, medicine, milk and health protection foods.

In the third quarter of 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management force inspected 46 cases, imposed administrative fines of more than 1.24 billion VND and transferred 9 cases with signs of crime to the investigation agency.

In the coming time, the industry will continue to strengthen inspection and prevention of smuggling, counterfeit goods, trade fraud, and violations of intellectual property rights; closely monitor e-commerce activities, listing and selling goods at the right prices, preventing speculation and hoarding.

Digitization and application of technology in management, inspection and handling of violations are being promoted. The force closely coordinates with local authorities, businesses, and industry associations to promptly detect and handle violations.

The work of propagating and educating the law for business organizations and individuals has been focused on; timely information on typical cases to warn consumers. In the coming time, the Market Management force will focus on peak inspection of smuggled cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, animal products of unknown origin, and strengthen handling of violations of drug, milk and food advertising.

Strictly implementing Directive 13/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister, Ho Chi Minh City resolutely inspects and strictly handles acts of trading and producing counterfeit goods and smuggled goods, especially in the online environment; ensuring a stable, transparent and healthy market.
