Regarding the dismantling of 2 telecommunication cable nutts of Saigontourist Cable Television Company (hereinafter referred to as SCTV) by Ninh Binh Power Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as SCTV) on the morning of February 16, causing a large interruption of SCTV's services, Mr. Tran Dang Son - Director of Ninh Binh Power said that up to now, SCTV has not yet fully paid the electric pole rental fee managed by Ninh Binh Power Company to hang the telecommunication cable with the remaining amount due as of February 17 being over 890 million VND.
Meanwhile, the power pole rental contract signed between Ninh Binh Electricity and SCTV has expired since December 31, 2024. In 2025 alone, SCTV has not negotiated whether to continue signing a contract or not.
"This is not the first time Ninh Binh Power has removed SCTV's telecommunication cables. Previously, we have also dismantled many times, after SCTV's agreement and commitment to pay off debts, we have connected again" - Mr. Son said.
According to Mr. Son, the contract signed between Ninh Binh Electricity and SCTV clearly stated that the payment method is a transfer and is divided into 2 installments, the first installment is in October 2024 and the second installment is in December 2024. However, up to now, the payment deadline has been nearly 2 months, and SCTV has not yet paid the full rental amount in 2024 to Ninh Binh Electricity.
Regarding the above content, on February 14, 2025, Vietnam Electricity Group issued document No. 958/EVN-VTCNTT+TT to Power Corporations on coordinating with cable television units under VTV to manage cable TV cables hung on power poles.
Accordingly, Vietnam Electricity Group requested Power Corporation to direct affiliated units to comply with the contract for the management of cable-stayed television on the power pole signed with cable television units under VTV.
At the same time, closely coordinate with cable television units under VTV (VTVcab, SCTV) to ensure the safety of cable television lines hanging on electric poles. Closely coordinate with VTV units to promote production, business, construction investment activities of Vietnam Electricity Group and units. Guiding and encouraging creative solutions and ideas in propagating energy saving according to Directive No. 20/CT-TTg dated March 8, 2023 of the Prime Minister.
"Ninh Binh Power has repeatedly sent documents requesting SCTV to pay the remaining debt in 2024 and negotiate to sign a lease contract in 2025, but so far we have not received any official written response from SCTV" - Mr. Son added.
