Recorded on May 3, from early morning, many large supermarkets in Ho Chi Minh City were bustling with shoppers. At systems such as Co.opmart, Big C, Lotte Mart, Emart, Aeon Mall..., the area of fresh food, processed goods, soft drinks and essential consumer goods attracted many customers. Many families took the opportunity to shop for meals at home, and at the same time prepared food for the working days returning after the holidays.
Ms. Dang Thi Hanh (resident of Binh Thanh ward) shared: "This year I didn't travel far, so I stayed at home to gather with friends. Today I took advantage of going to the supermarket early to choose food for the party and buy more food for the next week. Goods are quite abundant, many items also have buy 1 get 1 free promotions, so it also saves costs.

Similarly, Mr. Tran Van Hau (resident of Cho Lon ward) said that his family chose to go to the supermarket combined with entertainment at the shopping center during this occasion.
Eateries and cinemas are all crowded with customers. Young children have many playgrounds, and adults can take advantage of shopping for food, so it is very convenient. Holiday spending is also increased compared to normal days, but in return there are many promotions, so my family still spends comfortably" - Mr. Hau shared.

According to observations, not only essential goods, but also groups of entertainment and fast-moving consumer products such as confectionery, snacks, bottled drinks, beer... also recorded strong purchasing power growth. Many supermarkets are implementing promotional programs, deep discounts from 10-50%, further stimulating shopping demand.
Retail systems in Ho Chi Minh City said that during the recent holidays, the food group continued to lead in purchasing power as the demand for preparing family meals, stocking food and organizing gatherings increased significantly. This increase is not only due to higher consumer demand, but also thanks to supermarket systems simultaneously implementing many preferential programs, contributing to stimulating demand and sharing costs with consumers.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thang - Deputy General Director of Saigon Co. op said that increased purchasing power shows that the consumption trend is shifting. Buyers are increasingly proactively taking advantage of promotional programs to optimize spending while still ensuring product quality.
With the foundation of improving purchasing power, we expect that this year's holiday alone can achieve double-digit growth, thereby contributing to the overall growth target of the city's Industry and Trade sector" - Mr. Thang said.
