In the early morning of May 3, the Fire and Rescue Police force of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police coordinated with relevant units to urgently extinguish the fire that occurred on 2 fishing boats anchored at My Tan fishing port (Vinh Hai commune).
According to initial information, at about 10:02 PM on May 2, Fire and Rescue Team Area 8 received a report from people about a fishing boat fire in the port area.
Immediately after that, the unit dispatched 1 fire truck, 1 tanker truck and 10 officers and soldiers to the scene to deploy firefighting.

When approached, the fire broke out fiercely, engulfing 2 fishing boats numbered NT-02172 (owned by Mr. Lam Van My) and NT-02034 (owned by Mr. Nguyen Den). The boats were anchored about 150m from the shore, causing many difficulties for firefighting.
A witness to the fire said that the fire broke out from a ship and quickly spread to the next ship, accompanied by a dense column of black smoke, which could be observed from afar.
Faced with the risk of fire spreading, functional forces urgently moved the surrounding ships out of the dangerous area.
At the scene, the fire fighting force deployed 2 floating pumps, using boats and canoes of people to pull hoses to approach, and at the same time organized many water spraying teams to control the fire.
Currently, the damage from the ship fire has not been statistically determined; the cause of the fire is being investigated and clarified.
